I recently bought this model of EHDD from Best buy (naively thinking I might be able to open it and place it on a different enclosure, reality is sadly no) and neither wii flow lite or USB loader GX recognize it on either port. HOWEVER Cfg Mod does, for some reason.

The Disc is primary, has a single partition, and its set as primary. I try either port and nothing for both loaders. However nintendon't recognizes it, so does HBC.

Looks like the the partition is not set as active already. Check on Status column.

Let me check, it wasn't, I set it to primary, let's see what happens.

Nothing, usbloaderGX doesn't recognizes it on either port.

ditto for wiiflow lite.

Only CFG mod does and only when its hooked to the slot that aligns with the GC mem card slot B (I assume that's slot 0), HBC also recognizes the ehdd.

Are you using a Y-USB cable to connect the external HDD to the Wii?

Probably your external HDD need more power than a single USB port on the Wii can provide.

I've made my own Y-USB cable because I had a similar issue, which dissapeared when using the cable.

Which USB Port did you use please ?

Port 0 is the correct one please:

And maybe a sysCheck from your Wii and/or Information on your installed cIOSes (mainly IOS 58 Version and Slot 249 and its Base) would also help us to help you.:)

Thank you.:)

No, but if it was a power issue, why would Cfg mod, Nintedon't and the HBC itself see the EHDD? It also works fine on my PS2 slim.

"Seeing it", doesn't mean they can access it without issues. In my case Nintendont was able to list the games but not load them, also WiiFlow Lite and USB Loader GX too. Most games were correctly listed and shown, the problem was when trying to play: black screens, locked Wii, never ending loading screen, and so on.

CFG mod displays the games and I tested a couple from it, they launched and played fine.

Its specifically those two, because I could even access game via the mGBA emulator.

Finding the Y cable is difficult and I am not sure if I can take out the HDD, as WD has been apparently soldering them in such a way that you are forced to live with this enclosure.

@Cyan, @fledge68 either of you have any insight onto this issue?
