I was really eager to play SM64 since it would be my first experience with the game, so it was disappointing to see the game crash. Anyway, I went ahead and downloaded the unofficial SM64 port for the Switch and I'm surprised by how good it is compared to the official "port", 16:9 aspect ratio full HD, looks sharp and beautiful. I will now only use 3D Allstars to play Super Mario Sunshine and Galaxy.

Yeah the lack of a 16:9 mode nowaday is really a no go. Plus its a 3d game, cant be to hard for big n to do that. I really hope there will be a patch out the next weeks from nintendo to bring us a 16:9 mode.

No opinions here, just reporting my findings:

Firmware: 10.1.0 (emunand)
SXOS: 3.0.4b
Game Type: XCI, running as cart no install

Game runs but when trying to get back to title screen from SM64, SXOS crashes and needs reboot to get back into CFW

Iirc SM64 crashing is a known issue with the current dump floating around for any CFW user. Just gotta wait it out until a better dump is released

For SXOS users : STOP to use SxOs Installer or Tinfoil , it is shit.
USE GOLDLEAF to install your NSP. The game work and no crash.

Isn't this a "new" thing?

Booting a game and then launching another game from this?

CFWs were probably never thested for this and there are some bugs to be worked out.

Game boots to the menu but crashes once I try to enter ANY game. If you try to reboot the game, it states that "Corrupted Data Found" and prompts to redownload from the eShop.

Launch Switch
FW: 10.1.0
SX OS: 3.0.4
XCI AND NSP Same Issue
Installed game via SX OS Installer found in the Album.

I'm not sure how any SX OS users have gotten this to work. Unless there is a quick fix I'll just wait for an official scene release.

the game seems to "talk" with horizon on a different way. atmosphere need to be updated again and it will need new loader patches.
we just have to keep waiting... devs are aware of this.

SMS & SMG Run perfectly.
SM64 can be loaded once on one SXOS Boot.
Once you have ran the title, You will get an error screen if trying to reload it; this will kick you out of the game entirely.
(And it crashes if you run another game).

The best way to keep playing another game after close SM64 is rebooting from HBmenu, in the app "Reboot to Payload". i guess that is the most simple way to continue playing without using the jig. "it also safe a lot of time".

XCI works but you have to uninstall die NSP again.

If the NSP is installed and you launch the XCI, the system will still use the installed NSP version.

The issue ended up being the OS X installer found in the album. Once I used tinfoil the NSP installed fine and I have no issues. Super Mario 64 runs perfectly. So, for those on CFW SX OS, DO NOT USE THE INSTALLER IN THE ALBUM. As long as you have the latest firmware and SX OS version and install with tinfoil you should have no issues with the NSP or XCI release. Looks like you atmosphere folks are SOL for now.

Works fine for me with SX OS but I find the control stick of the pro controller way to sensitive for mario 64. It makes mario 64 a pretty hard game with the sensitive analog stick
