I got it working with the DSi version, I made a dummy 16KB save file and it worked fine, here it is
(It's not a txt, GBAtemp just disallows .sav files for reasons. Be sure to rename it to public.sav and put it into /title/00030004/4b435645/data if using the US version)

when i go into "/title/00030004/4b435645/data" it doesnt say that persay. It says "/title/00030004/53524c41/content". Is it still okay for me to put the file there?

I... I'm so lost and frustrated. So I went to TMFH, installed Cave Story, found the /title/00030004/4b435645/data file, and I noticed that there was a public.sav already there, but I replace it with yours anyway. So I boot it up, and says save file is corrupted, and then:

Couldn't create NAND save file (errno. 14)

Try checking your SD card for errors, otherwise you seem to be out of luck.

I am honestly. For some reason though the public.sav file banjo2 gave me only prompts the special error.

Well, if this is to be the end, then I just want to sincerely thank both of you. Sorry for my nagging. The whole time i was just eager to get it working. Thank you both again for putting up with me.

Proper sound/music emulation will likely never be implemented, as it's out of my scope.

Hi Robz8, thanks a lot for working on this and on other awesome projects!!

Quick one, do you have in mind working on PicoDrive TWL more than the 2 points that you defined in the ToDo list? Those 2 points were Sound playback (WIP) and DSi: Move screen drawing to DSP.

Unfortunately, I have no ideas (at least currently).

You should make sure your ROMs have the right extension at the end of the filename. I believe it's ".gen". If it's something else just rename.

Awesome to see more development happening for the DSi. :D
I'm new to the Twilight scene. I'm trying to get rom to work but no luck. I put all of them in the ROMS folder but nothing... I'm putting in md format. Should I create a specific folder for the rom to be recognised? Should they be in a different format?

Thank you!!

They should be .gen, not .md (since .md is also Markdown). You can just rename the extension and it should work.

I take advantage of the fact that this thread has been bumped, to ask why sound effects and music were never implemented. Perhaps because of the limitations imposed by the DSi hardware? I don't think so. Half of the appeal of Sega Genesis games comes from their unmistakable and unforgettable bgms.
Is there any hope that sound will be introduced in the near future (I do not think so, but I hope it 😋)? Thanks.

In later commits, sound can be implemented by using maxmod sound banks, and an .ini file containing the Genesis RAM locations for the set music byte.
Actual sound emulation is hard to do, unfortunately.
