Hacking Has my wii u been modded/hacked?

I received a used wii u second hand. It came with an external hard drive with a number of wii u games in it. All playable.
I also noticed it had an SD card in it. The SD card has files for retro arch - which I don’t see anywhere on the wii u menu.

How do I tell if this has been modded or not? And if it has by which method?

I don’t see any sign - that I can identify and I don’t see any home brew channel.

just install the forwarder for homebrew launcher and wup. that's how I have mine setup along with a forwarder for nintendont, loadiine, and usb loader gx on the virtual wii.

Check if the wiiu folder has an app folder. Also yes it is safe to go on the browser you wont get banned

I think he means that the other owner woudn't want so random kid bricking the wii u

that and the license would contain personal information. though, it's not like we could anything with it as we don't have the private keys they use to sign eshop content with.

No its any ds game
And going into the browser will open the homebrew launcher if the sd has the files and it will have a VERY high chance that it has cfw at some point but if it just spits out an error then we just cant tell

If the sd card has a folder called mocha or something on the lines of that, then it was at some point running cfw

edit - would you find mocha specific folder or just in the main area of the sd card

Worst case then it will just start chocking an error out and then you will have to pull the plug, If the exploit works then you will be fine

to clarify - you're saying the only way to brick a wii u is when trying to install cbhc? I've seen that term briefly but honestly don't know what it does.
