I dont think that the switch is going to fail after this consoles launch but I do think that its going to be in trouble unless Nintendo can get more deals to get games on switch
the people that buy the switch arent the same userbase that buys a standard console.

people buy the switch for portability and nintendo exclusives, which this doesnt affect at all.

Also xbox continues to push the cloud game pass which means everyone with potato pc will just stream the games and not need an xbox even for xbox exclusives.

Nah, Nintendo's been in a completely separate league since the Wii. People who play the Switch don't do it for the graphics power but for their first party games or the portability.

XBox on the other hand as been a tough sale for me. I praise their "release everything on Windows also" policy, but until they implement cross-buy for everything, that makes me invest on the PC meanwhile, and the big contender is still Steam, not MS Store. So I don't really get their strategy.

I'm kinda disappointed its not a little bigger with better airflow. This could be an opportunity to make a silent console. but an 8 core cpu and 4tf GPU in such a small package is bound to be a little noisy.

The Quick Resume function seems pretty cool. I like that you can pause and switch games without having to make it to a save point. (~5:00 in the video)

That benefits people like me who play 2-5 different games at the same time, depending on what kind of game I want to play at the moment. I wonder if it carries over after a shutdown though. Would suck to forget that you didn't save in a few of those 'paused' games and lose your progress.

Edit: This also means kids can't yell "Just let me get to a save point, MOM!" and play for another hour or so lol.

----Edit, no double post!--

This has also reinforced my thoughts that this SeS won't hold back games, they will be targeting the SeX and then scale everything down for the SeS. Which makes sense since the games will also need graphics options for the PC versions.

As much as I don't like XBOX, I really have to applaud their marketing tactic: they have two options, S or X. However this video didn't make me fell like I would be "left out" if I chose the S over the X. It really nailed that: it gave a clear message of "X is for 4k, and S is for 1440p, and nothing else". Not something like "PS4 is good, but PS4 Pro has better graphics and user experience".

Wait, so they're actually gonna have save states for the main games coming with the system?

That's...actually kind of sick!

Also, the Series S is apparently trying to find a waifu in the Series X, I see. I can only imagine how much of a nightmare the SeX's lewdness will be for the Series S... XD

It's cool but I'm not buying consoles that are digital only. I still have some trust issues with digital content and whether or not I actually own the games I buy digitally. I just don't like the idea that games are tied to an account rather than physical products that don't need accounts to purchase. Same thing with Xbox Game Pass.

Wait, so they're actually gonna have save states for the main games coming with the system?

Seems similar to how suspending games normally works (like when putting the Switch to sleep or pressing Home), but the video showed that you can suspend a game then open a different one. Looked like at least 4 games were suspended.

So probably not save states like emulators, but it kind of works like that i guess? I'm interested to see more info on how it works (Saves ram to SSD maybe?)

Also curious if it will keep them suspended after a shutdown. Might only work if you put the console to sleep. Really depends how they've managed to do this.

And I don't know whats going on with the waifu talk lol.

I'm still going to get a Series X to replace my One X, but this is a great idea. Can't wait to dive into this new generation (read: enjoy my current games with faster loads, higher framerate and hdr)
