Hi all,

I was changing the termal paste on xbox360 (Jasper) and by accident destroyed some traces with xclamp removal tool.

Will I need to remove the green stuff and connect the traces or can I jump them somewhere ?
Is it two traces or just one ? It seems 2 but since in one I cannot see the coper I'm in doubt.

Just out of curiosity, did you try putting it back together and booting it up after the mishap? That trace doesn’t look completely broken. Maybe it is, but I would have tried booting it before doing any trace work. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

Have done that.
My scraping didn't look pretty but it worked.

That's way more wire than you need. A cm or two of a few strands of desoldering braid twisted together and tinned would have been good enough. It's probably no problem, but just as a general rule, unnecessarily making wires longer than needed can sometimes cause reliability/stability issues.
Also for scraping away solder mask or corrosion, a fiberglass pen works great.

I tried just with the inner side of a wire but it was too difficult. Out of desperation i tried with a big wire and since it was working I left it like that.
I think ill leave it the way it is and some day I have an issue, I'll do it properly.
