Use oldretro.zip. It improves Garou and MS3 slowdowns. Not fully tested that's why it's not in the opening post.

Been testing a simple patch for the recent Samurai Shodown V Perfect to run on the Wii, by replacing the existing Samurai Shodown V Special, seems to run fine, in case someone is curious. The full english version won't run yet since the CRCs and the new names for this new variants are not added to the driver list, same for the older samsho5x Xbox hack which i though was already supported by FBA.

My devkit isn't adapted to build Retroarch, but it shouldn't be too hard if someone wants to setup the newer versions of it, add the new drivers, and compile.

In case someone is interested, i saw that SuperrSonic updated the HEXAECO build with support for Samurai Shodown V Perfect with the proper CRCs for the updated and fixed roms which was shared in the comments.

I will give it a try adding the values to the rominfo.mvs to generate the caches and see if they run.

Yea im interested in this. I have 3 different roms for this already. If you get the full english patched one (restored "perfect" title screen, overkills, english language for story mode, etc) please let me know exactly which rom with file names and crc's please. And quote me if you dont mine so I see the alert. Would like to get this running, thanks. And good work as always.

He is the user that makes the special Retroarch builds which tend to be more stable than what it is officially released. But without the correct rom cache generated, you won't be able to run the games, since they did not exist by the time the tool was made, hence why i said i was going to try adding them to the info file the converter uses, can't say if it will work, of course.

Apologies in adavnce if this sounds like a sill/lay question..but re: Mame2003 - as I understand it's broken into file segments to get different roms to work on the Wii? Would the likes of SF3 (all 3 versions) work better using mame2003 - as I'm sure there are mame.78 rom sets for these stellar games? I've been using a combination of Mame2000 and older FBA CPS1/2/3 dol files to date but happy for any recommendations.

Playing CPS3 games (6 in total) is kind of a miss/hit thing

You might think there's something wrong with the core, but the actual problem are the roms themselves.

I tried with many different CPS3 roms from various rom sources and none of them worked at all.

That's until I found a Youtube video with a MediaFire link containing cache files + roms + core

So, no... attemting to load CPS3 through Mame2003 won't solve the issue.

You just have to find the correct CPS3 roms.


Inb4: I could never make SF3 New Generation work, but Red Earth, Jojo's Venture, SF3: 2nd Impact and SF3: Third Strike works fine.
