Hacking Would I lose my SX-OS licence if I formatted the SD and re-installed it?

I installed the core chip, which came with the licence activated.

Do I need to back up anything if I were to format the entire SD card and re-install SX OS on it?

The license.dat file holds your license information for SX OS.

I'd also recommend backing up the Nintendo folder as it contains your games.
