Any number of pubs and local clubs with live music, few ones in museums and whatever else, and festivals with music on a stage or two but those are usually more about motorbikes or cars. Can't say it is my thing really -- if I go it is usually for the people there than the music (more than once I have missed all the acts and been outside speaking to people). "support my local music scene" is very much not me.

Never bothered with big festivals for music. Many of the acts above I enjoy but no particular desire to see live saving that I appear in the same room at the time.

Concert wise various things with parents, nice folk music thing in a massive castle once was fun.

More recently.
https://korpiklaani.com/?page_id=21 They are my favourite band still active (or in something vaguely resembling an original/biggest lineup) and not going to cost me everything to see (last time Tom Waits was on tour he pretty much only did Scotland and Dublin that I could have got to at all easily and it would have meant not having a roof when I got back if I did that -- https://www.theguardian.com/global/2008/aug/03/popandrock ), though I would not have minded seeing Black Sabbath the other year (bunch of my friends went, had a good time, but I had missed out on tickets by the time it all happened).
Most things I have seen them depending upon whether I have been in the UK or somewhere near Seattle for many years now, usually London but if I have been anywhere near Norwich at the time then I will have gone there as well (even if there are 2 days or something before London). Missed the last one as it was mobile phone only to book a ticket and I pulled apart the little application and thought I might as well deliver my own details to a carder forum and save them the hassle.
They usually sing a bunch of their songs but live (which they do well) in a small venue, and with a bit of audience fun. Their support bands are also ones I usually like (most of it is folk music with heavy metal instruments which works for me) and want to see, though might not go see solo, or they proceed to win me over.
For the most part I take the train in, wait in line, maybe have a conversation in line (being a foreign band most people in it are not from the UK which means UK line etiquette of stand still in more or less silence is not observed, which is nice), wander out to buy some water afterwards if it is not going to be a photo finish to get back to the train, and take the train home the same night, have occasionally had to stay up all night afterwards to get a train back the next day which can be fun, now know both inner London and Norwich thanks to wandering around all evening/all evening after the pub closes.

If I am going to go to a venue it is more likely to see a comedian.
