First released back in 2017 on PC and Xbox One, Cuphead makes a surprise debut on the PS4 today. Studio MDHR, the game's developers, made the announcement during today's Summer Games Fest stream.

During the stream, Studio MDHR also revealed that there is an upcoming free update for the Xbox One version that will add a digital art gallery, behind-the-scenes commentary features, and playable soundtrack to the game. They also confirmed that they are working on the The Delicious Last Course expansion but did not provide a release window.

Cuphead is now available on the PlayStation Store at $19.99. If you want to know what to expect of the game, be sure to check out our official review linked below!

Surprised ? I always knew that it will be going to PS4 after Nintendo Switch. XBOX>Nintendo Switch>PS4. Makes sense.

I think "surprise" in the sense that it came out of nowhere. It would be like the PS5 releasing tomorrow without any announcement. You knew that the console would be released, but you are surprised that it happened out of nowhere.

@Prans I'm going to be nitpicky once again... Near the end of your post, you put "The also..." I'm 100% sure it's supposed to be "They also..." ...Sorry for poking holes in your post but once I see it, I can't ignore it, haha.

This is great news! I've always wanted to play this but never had the opportunity to.

Now I shall continue to wait until it goes on sale and then miss the sale and never end up playing it.

Good for them. The game is super hard. I was fighting the last boss and the Switch version glitched on me when he was going to his part 2 phase. He went to the 2nd area and I followed him. The game did not go to the 2nd area.

What took them so long? But good for them.
I tried out the game for about 30 minutes, it was very challenging, a little too difficult to be enjoyable for me, but of course I'm sure practice and mastering the levels will give some satisfaction to people who do so!
it was probably a similar situation to the cuphead on mac thing where it took longer to make the announcement trailer for it

i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting strain on the ports. Instead of having the ports along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards.
