The big day for Xbox is here. Microsoft is gearing up to showcase what players can expect to see on the upcoming Xbox console--the Xbox Series X--when it launches later this year and brings us into a new gaming generation. We'll be seeing first-party games, including Halo Infinite, so be sure to check the show out when it goes live at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm BST. Here we go. A new teaser for Halo Infinite shows it takes place in 2560. Holiday 2020 launch still. Gameplay shown as well. This is our first look at the campaign. This world is larger than both Halo 4 and 5's combined. "Flawless 60fps". Multiplayer will be seen in the future.

Dontnod's trailer gives us a better look at the story for Tell Me Why. August 27th launch for the first episode.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is coming to Xbox Series X and will run at 120fps and low input latency.

The Outer Worlds gets some DLC. Peril on Gorgon launches September 9th.

Obsidian's Grounded launches July 28.

Obsidian also has a new game they're working on. An RPG. Avowed is their new first-person RPG game, with magic elements. The developers wanted to create this game but needed Xbox's help to fund it. This is their dream project.

Interior/Night is a new developer working for Xbox, working on an interactive drama. As Dusk Falls is the name.

Ninja Theory. The next Hellblade game is set in Iceland.

Psychonauts 2. Jack Black is singing the theme for the game.

Destiny 2 is coming to Xbox Series X. Game Pass users get the game's expansions. Beyond Light expansion launches November 10.

Stalker 2 revealed.

Console launch exclusive. Warhammer Darktide. Launches 2021.

Another console launch exclusive. Something Tetris. Tetris Effect Connected, has a new multiplayer mode.

Yet another console launch exclusive. Steamworld devs. The Gunk. It's a 3D exploration game.

I'm not a fan of next gen honestly but Microsoft has done a very good job this year. Microsoft even said it themselves they are not really in it for exclusives they are all about making the best all around console. Series-X is the better system than the PS5. The Xbox One is the better System than the PS4. This isn't even opinionated this is facts.

Microsoft has backwards compatibility on all the legacy systems Sony doesn't. You can access most of the titles on game pass you barely get anything of relevance on the PS Now. All systems have their exclusives titles but for Nintendo and Sony you have to shell out excessive $$$ to play their exclusive titles versus Microsoft handing everything to you on a silver platter on the game pass.

Last but not least lets talk about the game sales. Yes Sony and Nintendo sold more than Microsoft because of the popularity but that doesn't mean that it is better it only means that it is popular. Microsoft is still winning because they still get credit for PC sales and game sales also the most important thing they are bring value to their products. You will spend more $$$ owning a Nintendo or Sony product versus owning a Microsoft product. I have all 3 (Switch/PS4/Xbox One) I'm even talking about games that I bought I spent more $$$ on my PS4 and my Switch versus my Xbox One. All you need to do for Microsoft is buy your system and your controller charging adapter and the gamepass and you are golden.

If Anyone saying that Nintendo or Sony is better than Microsoft at this point is only in Denial. Subtract the exclusives and subtract the game sales tell me what are they offering other than squeezing you dry for every $$$. You have to look at the bigger picture. Each consoles have their own exclusives and Console sales fluctuate based off of popularity but when it comes to services and console capabilities tell me how Nintendo and Sony are better than Microsoft. It's going to be very hard to beat a system that is capabilities of offering backwards compatibility and also 75% if the games are accessible on game pass.

I realised how much Jack Black and Tim Schaefer are a match made in heaven. I'm not the biggest Jack Black fan, but his performance was spot on.

Also Gunk isn't getting enough attention imo. It looked pretty cool from what little gameplay we saw.

Even 360 was more affordable and efficient than PS3 back then, but the backward compatibility was really lacking on both (still longing to replay rallisport challenge 2...).

Too bad their project xCloud is not compatible with handheld PC while PSnow is.
At least, many of their game release on STEAM so, I'll give them a pass.

After a one-time setup, somehow right-clicking the steam icon and selecting a game is a "lot more hassle" than simply powering on the console... Give me a break.

A gaming quality PC is better than anything any console can offer. If only because you can play every generation through emulation, not to mention everything else you can do (better) on a PC: internet surfing, working, browsing the web etc.

The presentation sucked, as expected, since the few potentially good games showed no gameplay.

Halo Infinite looks good, and looks like Halo. This is a good thing, but there was nothing special in that gameplay either.

Forza Motorsport 3 was a given. State of Decay 3 is hard to get hyped since the other 2 games were nothing special either.

Everwild might be good, but I don't care for cinematic trailers. The same can be said about Fable, although it's nice to have a confirmation (but if it's an MMO as I heard in a another group, then I don't care about the game anymore).

Ori and the Will of the Wisps with "low input latency"... I mean, really? It's input latency was never a issue before, and I don't see what's special in this announcement.

I expected a way better presentation and much more gameplay.

You are correct if you have a strong PC there is no need for you to get a Seriex-X but for some people gaming PC's are super expensive so they opt out for the console. I have a gaming laptop but I like playing on my console more than my laptop since my laptop gets super hot after 4 hours and I don't want it to overheat. Another important thing with the whole Denovo DRM piracy is kinda dying on the PC slowly and games are getting cheaper to buy.

I'm not bashing the PS5 or the PS4 because I actually bought over 60 games for my PS4 but on my Xbox One all I had to do was just buy the gamepass and the little games I did buy for the Xbox One was dirt cheap. I'm just getting at the point I don't want to buy games anymore I just rather do a subscription and call it a day. I'm not really excited about next gen because I have a shit ton of PS4 and Xbox One games to keep me busy. I made a promise that I would beat most of the games before looking at next gen.

Even the switch although I don't talk much about in these big boys conversations of (Sony vs Microsoft) it is still there with the 1TB of games I had downloaded for it also my 10 legit games that I bought. I actually want to start beating those games too.

I been with Sony for 15 years they don't listen to their customers feedback I can go on and non about the lackluster PS Plus and PS now. The PS5 "exclusives" they did show honestly should have been on the PS4. What is the point of having multiple exclusives if you are still forcing your loyal fan base to buy then individually versus putting it on your PS Now Platform? Sony is like Apple all they want is your $$$ and they basically do nothing for you. So yes you are absolutely correct Sony may have 20 more exclusives than Microsoft but at least with Microsoft 10 out of the 12 exclusives I can play it on the game pass versus having to pay out of pocket for. Lets not forget backwards compatability is missing on the PS4 and there is no word on the PS5 being backwards compatible with PS3 and below (PS4 is confirmed being BC with PS5) You are drinking the Sony juice I understand I been drinking it for 15 years but due to bad leadership and the mediocre experience with PS Plus and PS now it made me look for something better. I found it with Microsoft.

We're simply not gonna agree on that, I don't see any point in setting Smash Bros aside into its very own genre. It has a lot of different modes, but all of them involve characters fighting each other head-to-head. Ergo it's a fighting game series. Easy to learn and very difficult to master, as it should be.

Even if, for some reason, you limit the definition of "fighting games" exclusively to games about memorizing command inputs and combos, Smash Bros has those elements as well.

I'll admit that MS is being quite generous with putting so many games on Game Pass at launch. However, the reason they're doing this is not out of the goodness of their hearts, but because of their current position in the console race. They're losing, and not by just a little bit. If the tables were flipped and PS4 came in dead last for sales this generation, Sony would do exactly as you suggest and create one unified subscription service. As long as people are buying up their first-party exclusives like crazy, however, there's no good reason for Sony to devalue their own games that way.

Also I dislike subscription services in general, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that, but that's another discussion.

Lets not forget backwards compatability is missing on the PS4 and there is no word on the PS5 being backwards compatible with PS3 and below (PS4 is confirmed being BC with PS5)

The prospect of backward compatibility for playing PS4 exclusives with better performance is nice, but beyond that, BC is little more than a novelty at this point. The few games more than one generation back which haven't been re-released, remastered, or remade, can simply be emulated. Between Xbox and X360, I can think of all of three titles which are perhaps worth revisiting, and none of them would require me to buy a Microsoft console in order to revisit.

In summary: Microsoft has made some good decisions lately, but they've also made a ton of bad decisions in the past, the consequences of which put them in their current position (playing from behind/shifting the focus to PC gaming). I wish them all the best, but it's certainly an uphill battle from here, and I don't think it would be a bad idea for them to move away from hardware manufacturing and into more of a publisher role.

Console exclusive. Again i don't care what is on PC and neither do millions of people who use consoles. Which is why Microsoft's strategy is brilliant.

Aside from playing PS4 games at higher resolutions/with better performance, frankly all I needed to sell me on PS5 was the Demon's Souls remake. The entire Dark Souls trilogy definitely falls within my top ten action-RPGs of all time.

I'll just play the PS3 game for the 10th time great game, but i'm not interested in remasters. and PS4 BC pales in comparison to Xbox BC if that's a feature you care about
