Similar to the Spirit Tracks D-Pad patch but for Phantom Horglass. It adds D-Pad/Button controls in addition to touch screen controls for basic actions.
Control Bindings:
  • D-Pad=Run
  • Y+Dpad=Walk
  • B=Wide slash
  • B+Dpad=Long slash
  • Y+B=Spin Attack
  • A=Interact
  • A+Dpad=Roll
  • A=Advance Dialogs
Once again things bound to the D-Pad originally could still be accessed with Select+that direction.

So you cant patch this in via an ips patcher correct?

all's cool and good, i dont feel the site would allow me to welp, looks like ima have to level up first :/

I understand. Since you know how so we can talk about Rockman/MegaMan ok ? I also translated Rockman & Forte SFC/SNES in accurate Japan/English and a brand new title screen replacement (haven't done it yet but title screen is complete redesign that look exactly like GBA version but a bigger one.)

Is there a patch for the japanese version yet?
A version of this patch or in general?

I don't think this version has been done for the Japanese ROM but the original Zelda dpad hacks were done for the Japanese version. I don't have a patch right now as most things were distributed either as a the whole ROM or as an ARM9 binary but they are out there. While not as nice as this version the originals still worked well enough to play, and demonstrate how touch screen controls here were a bad idea.

FYI, this seems to *sometimes* break the mic input needed at various moments in the game. My workaround is to keep two copies of the rom and copy the saves once I was past the mic input bit. First mic input I noticed not working was a dusty sea chart, but then it worked fine on some windmills later on.

This patch is awesome - I doubt I'd be getting through these games today with out it. Thank you.

The patch helps a lot thanks, I could see that the microphone works with the A button in Spirit track but not in Phantom Hourglass, there will be some solution for us that we have the Microphone that does not work .. :(
stuck in the part you yell at Astrid.

Can I have some help patching this? I run the exact command, replacing all the things like (old_file) with the actual filenames, and yet it never actually patches the ROM, with the ROM not even appearing in the folder. I also ran the .exe as admin, yet still to no avail.

Not sure why it would not work for you. But it’s just patching an xdelta file. So you can use xDelta GUI and apply it yourself. Here’s a suitable program:

Thanks. For some reason, I tried the exact same thing before, but couldn't manage to get it to patch. No idea what I did differently this time.
