I'm completely at a loss for words. Updated my switch offline with Choidujour to 9.1 last night on the latest SXOS 3.0.3. Everything on the choi update went well. After hitting the reboot button, it loads up to the SXOS menu, but will not boot to CFW and OFW. There isn't even a Nintendo logo. SD card is on exfat. I'm currently using the SX PRO to boot up my switch.

I already tried formatting to fat32 and only putting he license and fresh boot file on the card but has no impact. Now i have a dead switch that just doesn't boot at all. I wouldnt mind if i could only play cartridges at this point.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.s I'm completely new to switch hacking as the switch was given to me already modded. I also dont have a nand backup (noob mistake).

right option, already updated to fat32 on a fresh sd card and tried booting with a fresh boot.dat and license, unfortunately has no impact.

Format your card with exfat and restart the console with it. Report here if this helps. And try again to install the update. But choose then the left option (fat32)

Do you have a NAND backup you can restore?
no i dont unfortunately. I have used choi in the past with no problem at all so i got cocky on my part and didnt perform the backup. Ive updated from 6.2 to 8.0 before without any problems so i assumed everything would go well this time as well. (stupid and expensive mistake)

First, follow these troubleshooting steps:
  1. Make sure the SD card is FAT32.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  3. Download the latest Atmosphere
  4. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  5. Put Atmosphere onto your SD card
  6. Put the SD into your Switch
  7. Enter RCM
  8. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary
What happens?

And this is one of the many reasons why you should use emuNAND. That way you'll always have OFW sysNAND working, and in an emergency, you can quite easily dump the save data from your emuNAND and make a new one even if you somehow don't have a NAND backup.

Some people use Hekate to boot into Atmosphere. I personally do not recommend it unless you're chainloading fusee-primary. Regardless, for troubleshooting purposes, please do not use Hekate for now.

The easiest solution to this and most other problems is to just have a NAND backup on hand.

Unless you want to use online play, or you have an ipatched system, there's no real reason to use an emuNAND.

I don't know much about the SX dongle, since it's trash, so I'm not going to speculate on how to get it to comport with my troubleshooting steps. Use a computer or Android device to push the fusee-primary payload.

Injected payload, only the backlight is on with a black screen.

If you correctly followed my troubleshooting steps and the Switch will not boot, then I recommend doing the following:
  1. Make a NAND backup, including BOOT0/1, with Hekate. Store the backup somewhere safe.
  2. Follow this guide to hopefully fix your NAND.
  3. If the Switch successfully boots after following the guide, make a new NAND backup.

Trying to rebuild nand here but quickly got stumped when the biskeys (that derived from sdsetup biskeygen) i test in hackdiskmount fails. Any way to remedy this?
