Hey, just a simple question, cause I keep finding conflicting infos about this and honestly don't feel like going through 55 pages.
Just how "safe" is it to use acnh poker on sysnand (obviously offline) and going online afterwards? Some people say ANY cheat on sysnand will get you banned, other people say only nsp nowadays will get you banned (I honestly use cfw offline on sysnand to edit save on nhse and then restore it, no emu involved and it's all ok), so maybe someone who tried it can tell me what's closest to the truth please? As far as 'you can get banned for editing acnh save' goes, I thought it's cool since I don't see much difference from using nhse and that's been ok so far, but I'm not sure cuz not really an expert.

Your question is how "safe"
My answer is "not safe, 0% safe"
The game has a thing called "hash check". It happen in the backgound and check to see if you have manipulate the data of the game.
Once you failed your "hash check", it will be recorded. And that information will be passed to Nintendo next time you go online.
When you failed the "hash check", the game will also refuse to make a connection. Even local connection with another switch will give an error. You will need to restart your game for the connection to work again.
However, we haven't seen Nintendo do much about it. No massive ban wave or anything. It also doesn't mean that they wouldn't do it in the future. And I believe Nintendo is taking a tolerance approaches here. Meaning as long as you are not disrupting the online portion or other people's game. They will turn a blind eye about it.
Now back to your use case:
Assume you only use it offline and does not affect other people, and you are not pirating the game by installing NSP, the chance of using ACNHPoker and getting you banned is
very low.
Here are my reasons:
- There are no in-game code trying to detect obvious cheated item. Like Star fragment tree, un-released event items or golden water can recipe.
- If I am Nintendo, I would simply push an update and scan all your inventories for these items and ban everyone with them. Not only I banned a lot of cheater. But also send out a signal to everyone not to cheat as they are easily detectable. Fast and easy.
- Banning every cheater out there will likely affect any future DLC sales of the game.
- Nintendo want your money. And banning you will most likely stop you from buying any future DLCs.
- Banning people will generate unnecessary negative imagery for Nintendo.
- People can recieve unknown cheated items easily by in game trading. Should they be banned too? If yes, do you have the people to handle the ban appeal? Do you want to listen to angry parents on the phone because their son receive a cheated katana in Animal Crossing?
To conclude, if you cheated or do anything to manipulate the game. You deserved to be banned anytime.
But banning you because you are cheating in your own game does not benefit Nintendo at all. So they will most likely forget about it.
