The opening thread posts are reserved for Sword and Shield v1.2.1 codes. The old thread was bombarded with requests for a new thread. I will try to keep these opening posts up-to-date as more UNIQUE Cheats become known to the public. (I will try my best to re-test as many codes shared with the public as possible to help ensure the codes here are legit!)

Codes for EVERYONE
The main thread will ONLY contain codes available for both versions of the games. Codes hunted for one version that don't have a working counterpart for the other game will not be in the main thread.

(While I understand the concept of Code Hunting (did so in the 90's for Pokemon Red & Blue.) The games are way more complex & personally I do not have the time to hunt for new codes.)

Switch Cheat Codes 101
On modern consoles (such as the Nintendo Switch) when you launch a game, the console will use as much memory as possible to store as much of the game as possible into memory. This allows for fast load times. The way cheat codes work on CFW Nintendo Switch is by pointing a specific areas of memory and editing the programing code.

A common cheat code example is code which prevents money in your virtual wallet from decreasing when spent in game at a shop. The game's programming normally determines the COST OF ITEM being purchased, then it subtracts it from your AMOUNT IN WALLET.

The programming would look something like:
"AMOUNT IN WALLET - COST OF ITEM"

If you were to edit that programming to skip reading the COST OF ITEM and just replaced it with the value 0, the math would subtract 0 from your AMOUNT IN WALLET thus making the item "free" with programing looking something like this:
"AMOUNT IN WALLET - 0"

There are two ways this programming can be made to the game. The first is with a Mod which is a permentant edit to the game. The second is with cheat codes which are temporary and have a data size limit (aka you can only make small changes.)

TLDR: To find cheat codes for the Nintendo Switch, a person needs to be able to understand programming enough to read the programming code language used to make the games (using special apps to read it.)

"Missing" Codes
The process of hunting codes is takes time (without being paid) so I want to send a HUGE shout out to @Falo. @Falo consistently has graced us with most of the codes players use EVERY day when a new version of the game comes out typically within a week. This is a massive undertaking.

There's need for more dedicated & experienced Code Hunters as the amount of codes being hunted with each new version is decreasing because time is money.

Let's stay on topic!

The following thread is ONLY for discussion and testing of Cheat Codes for using in CFW/EMU.
Please take any of the following topics to more appropriate threads on this forum site:
  • CFW Installation Tutorial/Help
  • CFW Troubleshooting
  • PKHeX (anything)
  • Code Hunting Tutorial/Help
There are plenty of other threads where this is already being discussed in detail.
ENJOY!

@CrisFTW, the update from v1.2.0 to v1.2.1 is massive and changed a LOT of the game's code. In case you are not aware, the cheats Switch CFW uses are not cheats like in the days of Game Genie OR Game Shark where cheats would edit memory values. Cheats for the Switch work by editing the game's code, so, when the game's code changes those cheats tend not to work because the cheat is attempting to edit code that was in the same place as the previously working code used to be but is no longer.

While this thread is not the first in the series that I have created, it still stands independent from the all-encompassing thread you referrenced.

It serves as a spot for ONLY codes from a specific version. While this may not be of use to you (or of use to you now), I create these threads for two reasons:
  1. People appreciate being able to find codes for JUST the version they are on.
  2. As I have discovered with emulation of the 3DS, there's no guarantee of WHAT version of the game you will be playing on (let alone the newest.) So, this thread is here for people in the now and the future can EASILY search and find codes which work for the version they are on.
If you search the thread, you will find threads open for all the individual versions. GBATemp makes it hard to search on that MASSIVE 200+ page thread for codes for a specific version, which is why this thread exists.

@Th3Alic3 Thank you for starting a new thread! @Falo I understand it will take some time to find more codes for this version, but if I may please request the code for the daycare lady to always have an egg be updated please and thank you for all of your hard work!

I wish I knew how to find codes, I'd love to help. Been looking for instant hatch, nursery always has egg and walk through walls. Although no "walk through walls" ever came out for 1.2.0 so, not hopeful on that one.

This isn't the right site for that.
This is definitely not the site for that kind of thing. That's more Reddit's kind of thing.

I'm a fan of these version-specific threads, thanks for what you do @Th3Alic3
You're welcome! I know there's people who appreciate not having shift through 100's of pages of a thread to find a single code.

No instant egg or quick hatch codes yet?

@ChicagoMel:
:yayswitch::yayswitch::yayswitch:
Nursey cheats tested and added to the list!
Overworld cheats tested and added to the list!
In-Battle cheats tested and added to the list!
:yayswitch::yayswitch::yayswitch:

You just need some patience.

The simple fact is that Sword & Shield came out about 9 months ago. It's kind of expected people using the cheats beat the story mode so cheat codes which serve no purpose once a player is post game are not a priority. For the most part, code hunters who have to re-hunt the codes every few months at this rate focus on the codes which are used pretty much every day someone is playing the game.

True, I found that the "walk though walls" code has a lot of potential even for people who have already beaten the game. To be able to skip through a lot of the story to grab some legit second versions of mons is very useful. Start a second or even a third save and be able to skip through had a lot of usefulness.

Sorry to break this to you @Newwaverap but you have been taking the most time consuming approach to "save time" when it comes to playing on CFW Switch.

The only reason to replay through the game is to REPLAY it. There's no point to replaying the game if you just are going to skip over the game. There's no requirement to replay through the game to repeat 1-time events. To repeat the you simply use Checkpoint before the event.

I have Checkpoint back-ups for:
  • Eternatus encounter
  • Dogge encounter
  • About to receive Kubfu
Rather than taking an hour to tredge through a replay to re-encounter the Legendary Dogge with your "Walk Through Walls", it takes a minute with Checkpoint to reload the save file. (You might need a second playthough if you made the mistake of not creating the Checkpoint back-ups... but that's about it. You NEVER need to play through the game more than twice in that scenario.)

I appreciate the tips. I have some checkpoint saves for all the aforementioned mons. However I think I play the game a bit different than you, The "walk though walls" would have be very useful to me and others but I get that in the few scenarios you detailed it doesn't make sense, however those are not the scenarios I would use the code for. I also know it's not a code that will be searched/added since you don't feel it's useful and I get that. I appreciate all your work and all other code testers. Thank you, keep up the good work.

Is there going to be a max money cheat for 1.2.1 and watts code?Also i see not all codes are updated for 1.2.1 im guessing that is being worked on?one last thing the ''[Catch Rolls = 100% (in Wild Battles Perfect Catch) (v1.2.0)]
04000000 0076CD98 529FFFE0
(* Note: The cheat only impacts the PokeBall shakes against wild grass/water. The "Overworld" Pokemon & Raid Pokemon require a different cheat.)'' is there going to be a cheat to 100% catch ANY pokemon in the overworld since i guess that code doesnt fully do that?Thank you for these awesome codes so far.
