It spills out of there anyway. Lets not forget I was personally subject to transphobic abuse right here in the EoF just a few weeks ago which is absolutely no different to what happens in the World news section all the time.


Every single thread in the world news forum ends up being a shitfest of you are an idiot if you support trump/you are an idiot if you don't support trump and there is always at least on person who tries to start shit with the trans community no matter what the thread is about. For example the cancel culture thread where someone tried to start shit with the usual crap that all trans are mentally ill ect ect. Like what the fuck did that have to do with cancel culture.

The threads in the politics board make me want to vomit through my eyeholes, and I avoid it like the plague.
At least when there's a relevant thread in the politics board, the trolls are drawn there instead of infecting every other board.
This doesn't completely remove them, but it helps.

It doesn't really solve the issue at hand though it just limits where the issue takes place. All areas of this site should be accessible by all but the world news section is a no go zone for most of the trans community that uses the site because of the abuse we are regularly subjected to there.

Thats exactly my point it just contains it but it doesn't solve the issue at hand. It would just be easier to make all political talk on the site against the rules. People shouldn't have to avoid parts of the site so as to not be abused.

Eliminating political speech wouldn't solve your problem either. The people who are upsetting you would not go anywhere or change their minds, they would simply be redistributed to other boards and topics. If you want to completely eliminate dissent then your options are to prevent threads from being public without mod approval or eliminate anyone that upsets you.
