PC players will soon be able to continue playing through the Halo series, as the third title is headed to Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Game Pass before the end of this month. Halo 3 will be releasing on July 14th, bringing with it the same optimizations and features that the previous PC ports offered, such as 4K support, 60+fps, mouse and keyboard input, the forge/theater, and 24 multiplayer maps. Currently, the collection of games are available for purchase on Steam for a slight discount as part of the Steam Summer Sale, or you can purchase titles individually, with the latter priced at $7.99 each on sale, or the former available for $31.99 until July 9th.

To be fair Sony had their own equivalent generic shooters.

Calling Halo a generic shooter is plain ignorance and shows you only scratched the surface of it but even on the surface the game is fun, just not for very long...

I'm really bummed that they seem to be putting so much effort into 3 (new, high-res assets, etc) but H1 and H2 are left as broken, shriveled versions of their former selves. I mean, It's better than nothing, but stuff like Chimera that fixes crap in the old GearBox PC port (which MCC's H1 uses) seriously goes to show that MS just have different priorities than trying to preserve the game. Oooooooh, awesome, I can change the texture on the Warthog and AR now in H1, oooooooh... Meantime, the audio is borked all over the game, weapons don't fire at the correct pace, promised fixes aren't there. It's really disappointing.

I have battery based wii sensor bar so I can use real wii mote to play it on dolphin.

I played their flight (beta) and it felt like the best port yet. So smooth and fun to play. Feel like they've learned a lot since Reach.

I remember selling halo 3 very quickly hehe ....... I didn’t play and finish metroid prime 3 in it year of release it was much later but I liked it alot.

halo 3 was my first halo ever and I didn’t like the enemies and voices ...... it wasn’t fun.

I played their flight (beta) and it felt like the best port yet. So smooth and fun to play. Feel like they've learned a lot since Reach.

halo has never interested me. i played the fourth one with my buddy when i was like 12 but other than that it was boring lol. destiny was even worse for me. never been so pissed off at myself for spending 60 bucks.

Halo 4’s probably near if not the worst game in the series honestly. The campaign wasn’t great and the multiplayer was... not good, to say the least. Sucks if that was your only experience with the series.

4 has a lot of qualities that most Halo fans seem to overlook. I don't blame anyone for disliking it, your opinion is your opinion, I just feel that it gets way more hate than it deserves.

Halo 4 is decent, only problem I have with Halo 4 is that the levels can be small and too linear but that's due to hardware limitations, the core aspect of the gameplay is a mix of H3 and Reach with weird directions and sprint made people mad but in campaign it wasn't bad, art style is hit or miss, there are stuff I love and stuff I hate in it but overall I liked the game, only main entry in the franchise I really hate is Halo 5, there are too many wrong aspects to it for it to be a good game...

Halo 2 and 3 were my teenage life, made it to rank 40 undefeated in Team Doubles on Halo 3 with a high school buddy of mine. Checked my matchmaking history on bungie.net and saw I had 864 matchmade games in three years on Halo 3, and 501 on Halo 2 across one year. That doesn't include what I played when I shared a LIVE account with a friend before I had my own or what I played at LAN parties.

I played the test flight of Halo 3 when it was live a few weeks ago, still tons of fun!

We didn't play the same game man, how can you even say Halo has a generic gameplay when it's the only FPS that offers its kind of gameplay, if you only play on normal you might not notice that the game expects a certain behavior from the player... You can not go through Halo like you go through Half-Life, aim and speed is not what will cut it, it's tactic and pattern recognition that will...

The gameplay was at its peak, Halo:CE had a well made campaign, Halo 2 suffered from crunch and the gameplay balance in SP was catastrophic, Heroic and Legendary weren't even a challenge, it was pure rape, Halo 3 took the good aspects of CE and 2 and mixed them pretty well to make a very satisfying and balanced gameplay in SP...

By the way, the plot was good enough, trying to wrap up the mess Halo 2 made was hard enough, building hype like Halo 2 did is easy, giving it closure is always harder, Halo 3 was not ultra satisfying but it wasn't underwhelming either (it's not like say Lost season 6 which saying it was underwhelming is an euphemism) and the atmosphere, art style and music, were great...

Halo was crafted for console and couch coop, many people seem to forget this.
