Using parallel port (printer cable?) to put a couple of patched roms (if you could get them, google wasn't as good in finding roms back then) on my 256mbit card was totally "good enough"! When a new game came out you would have to wait a couple of days/weeks for the software to be updated (i was definitely a regular at ezflash.cn). We are spoiled nowadays :)

For the poll: I'd go for the omega, better pricepoint. I had a ezflash V die on me but the rest are still going strong (had to change a couple of batteries btw).
All mine used USB or flash memory

Was there anything better at the time of parallel port flashing?

That's all relative to the year in release for each being "good enough"

Even good enough, I guess for you what was the biggest 'wow' of a flashcard for its features, price, and time period released to where you thought, this is SOLID?

Also how would you rank your x5 vs. omega since you have both! I know you said no omega issues but do you often reach for one over the other?

Look it comes down to this: Do you want to spend nearly double on better build quality, reliability, and battery life or not? Because other than that they do the exact same thing. Just choose one. :gun:

I had too many issues with save reliability on Omega, so got an X5 mini en route

ED64 v2.5 and EDGBv3 have been fantastic

looking forward to game randomizer, and power efficiency / bit better build quality too

Hello. I am new on this things, but all are very interesting for me.
I modded a GBA with IPS screen, battery pack and bought an EZ Flash Omega IV to complete the project.
I installed GB, GBC, GBA and NES games into it and here comes my problem.
The NES games looks cutted, there are areas on the borders I don't see, specially on the top of the screen or in the bottom (the system allow me to scroll vertically). I cannot set it to fit the screen properly and I saw here:

like there is not such a problem on the Everdrive X5 Mini running NES games.

Any advice or thoughts about this thing?

Thanks!
