Along with the two Pokémon-focused livestreams airing this month, Nintendo has announced another livestream focused on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Airing on June 22nd at 7am PT/10am ET, and lasting approximately 35 minutes, it will give an in-depth look at the new fighter from the ARMS franchise that will be joining as DLC. In a follow-up Tweet, Nintendo confirmed that there will be no new fighter announcements during the stream. They did not mention, however, if there may be more details regarding upcoming amiibo figures, as some of the previous DLC fighter livestreams have featured.

Well, there are plenty of great (and popular) first-party characters to pick from who still aren't in Smash, such as Geno. Heck, I would've gladly taken even Waddle Dee over an ARMS character.

Eh, Geno isn't exactly the first "first-party" character I'd pick. I'd actually love to, if they could try to see if MS would play nice again, see if they couldn't get either a character from KI into Smash (I'll take Fulgore, please), any of the Battletoads, or some other "wait, HE'S/SHE'S in Smash!?" on the level of Terry Bogard, Joker, and Banjo character; someone that defies all odds (I thought Joker was a pleasant surprise, but then they got my KOF main in there and I'm over here like, "CAN WE GET SOL BADGUY IN SMASH NOW!? WITH GUILTY GEAR MUSIC!?") on who you'd expect to be on the table for DLC characters in Smash. Dante (NOT DONTE, DANTE, CAPCOM!) would also be cool given all of his weapons (that he'd use better than Harem Emblem Bait #8) and the fact that it'd be a cool crossover between Bayonetta and DMC! Either him, and/or Phoenix Wright, who could I think would be cool given his history on Nintendo consoles!

Also, Travis Touchdown. Need I say more?

Oh for sure, if we're not limiting it to first-party characters I'd love to see any of these and more. Gordon Freeman, Doomguy, Master Chief, Spyro, Solaire, Geralt, Amaterasu, Chell, Turok, Lara Croft, Rayman, Earthworm Jim, the list goes on and on. I also assume fighers pass 2 won't be entirely first-party, otherwise we're just gonna end up with a bunch more Pokemon and Fire Emblem reps.

Wait, does anyone even play ARMS anymore? It looked kinda interesting, but by the time I got my Switch (May 2018, not that long after the game came out) it seemed dead. I'd love to pick it up if there's still a reason to.

P.S. I know it would literally never happen, and I look like a fuckin' idiot for thinking it, buuut... I'd love to see Josuke in Smash. Or Joseph. Just any JoJo, really. I've heard that Sakurai is a JoJo fan, and that one of the alts is a reference to DIO (part 3), and with the anime coming out, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is popular enough to warrant it, but it definitely doesn't seem like the kind of thing Nintendo would do. They'd probably sooner add someone from DBZ, or Naruto, or something, if any anime/manga series.

I'm hoping it's twintelle as the game has way too many men in the game we need more female representation. And as much as peopl want Masahiro Sakurai to take a break he's the epitome of determined and if anybody deserves credit for a true hard worker it's him.

At least they are fair to inform everyone before the presentation of the new fighter that it will be uninteresting for the majority of people so they don't get their hopes up.
