Just wondering if there's a way to defrag my external hard drive or if there's any need to?

Thanks for the help, always.

A SSD is unnecessary for the Wii U just for gaming purpose.
most likely, but defragging shouldnt really be necessary then, although the wiiu's internal storage is flash based after all, just put what you play the most on there for the speed boost on loading times

Should never install games on the Wii U NAND, brick protection purpose, that why you use a HDD, beside Wii U only have USB 2.0, it would be a waste to use a SSD on a Wii U as external storage.

Of course you can install games onto your NAND storage. You just shouldn't do it when installing through WUP installer. After installing you can just move the game to your NAND without any risk

Doesn't solve anything if you install something onto NAND and it brick the system.

It's not a waste.
A SSD reduces noise and only needs 1 USB port for power.
It's also safer in terms of shock protection (drops).
