Taiwan Ratings Board listing confirms the existence of Crash Bandicoot 4

With Activision sending out teasers in the form of puzzle pieces related to the Crash Bandicoot series recently, it was only a matter of time before the cat, or rather, bandicoot was out of the bag. The Taiwanese Ratings Board has just confirmed that a new Crash Bandicoot game is on the way, thanks to a listing that went live perhaps a little too early. The listing even includes official boxart for the game, which is titled Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, which will be releasing on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the latter stating that it'll be playable on the Xbox Series X. You can read the official description, below. Developer Toys For Bob, who worked on both the Spyro and Crash remasters, are on board for this project.

Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.

I dont see a PS5 version :ninja:

It only states it will be playable on the Series X, considering all Xbone games are playable on the Series x, that may be all it means, you'll be able to play the Xbone version on the Series X. We know not all PS4 games will be playable on PS5 (though most will), but you'd think one released so late in it's life would be certain to be able to be played on the PS5, I guess we'll see in time.

Well this is a surprise... or not if you looked at the merchandise that was leaked beforehand.

It sure is about time. Only took them 22 years.
Well technically 12 years but-

I just realised they're gonna have an awkward time in Japan because the name 'Crash Bandicoot 4' has already been used over there

Even 'Crash Bandicoot 5' had been used for Twinsanity

So they're gonna have to name it either 'Crash Bandicoot 6: It's About Time' or just 'Crash Bandicoot: It's About Time'

I like to trace the absurdity of the Super Mario Bros titles. In Japan, Super Mario World's full title is actually Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World. In the West, but not in Japan, Yoshi's Island is titled Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. If we connect the dots, we could consider that to therefore be Super Mario Bros. 5. But wait, there is more, prior to release, Yoshi's Island DS was titled Yoshi's Island 2, making it a sequel to Yoshi's Island, and so by extension, we can consider Yoshi's Island DS to be Super Mario Bros. 6 lol. Stops there though, Yoshi's New Island never had a title that made it a direct sequel to any of the other Yoshi's Island games.

The plot seems interesting since is about dimensions it doesn't need to change the existing games (at least on the west, let's see what they do on Japan)

Unless it's some sort of CTR scenario with taking part of TWOC stuff and making a new game at the same time

I just don't get the name

Like they say it's about time but in the story is actually about dimensions

Oh, who could poooooosibly be responsible?
Might it perhaps be the clearly evil quantum mask in the top left corner thats corrupted or slytherin or whatever?

My guess? It's about time because it's about the fallout resulting from the time travel shenanigans in Warped.
Timetravel affected quantum nonsense and dimensions and the clearly evil quantum mask is using that for its own evil devices
