I know the site was originally for GBA modding but who were it’s original creators (admins etc.) and members?

Wow that’s really interesting is Kivian still on the site anymore? It was made for piracy at first.

Is Kivan still here anymore?Yeah it started for piracy and I joined it when it was still a piracy site, waaaay way back. Yes I'm old.
I used to get my ROMs from here back in the day when I was in high school, but I never made an account. I never saw a need, since the social aspect of the site wasn't at the point where I felt like it was a community I could be invested in.
I lurked here for many years, finally joining when the 3DS hacking scene was big.
T-Hug is the earliest member who is still active, at 25th. Joined on 0 day, October the 24th, 2002.If you check Costello/Shaun/T-hug's profile URL, I'm pretty sure that their like user id thing that means they were the X number member. I think those three were like in the first 50 users registered on the site or something, super cool.
KiVan occasionally shows up.
A lot of the older members have gone on with their lives, some even passed away like Densetsu.
I mean, the site is almost 20, a lot of things happened in those two decades.
The ROM hosting cut off, GBA being replaced by the DS, switch from IPB to Xenforo etc.

I lurked here for many years, finally joining when the 3DS hacking scene was big. There was a really big thread going on and I couldn't resist joining in. I actually got pretty disillusioned with the site at that time, since some people weren't welcoming and there was a lot of people who were just trolling.
I sort of let it lapse, but when the Switch scene took off, I came here for good. I felt (and still feel) really happy to be in this community, it's full of great people these days.

I think Omero was also one of the first guys on the site, too, and he might have made the very first logo of Tempy? Not 100% sure though. Ace Gunman was a mod, for like, forever, too.
As always, the Wiki has a ton of history info on it: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Main_Page
Yeah, that mirrors my story with the site too - other than the fact that I was about 30 when GBAtemp was first hosting roms... yes, I'm getting ever closer to 50

Shaun was 31st, same day.
Costello is actually number 255, and joined the day after, October 25 2002.
That’s all very interesting I just was always wondered who’s still been here from the creation as well as who made it and all this info is really informative and really answers my question rather wellThe Wiki entry gives a pretty detailed retrospective. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them.
I still remember the day KiVan messaged me on IRC and said he had grown tired of the site and asked if I wanted to "take it over". I regret not having a screencap or log of that conversation for posterity.
He was last on the site Feb of last year.Is Kivan still here anymore?
I'm fairly sure it wasn't a piracy site in 2007Yeah it started for piracy and I joined it when it was still a piracy site, waaaay way back. Yes I'm old.
I am not exactly sure I know when I joined it was right around when the switch scene was beginning to start and I don’t think it was around then but I only harassed the 3ds forums.Oh the feels.
Is the IRC chat still up btw? I was living there back in the days.
I'm fairly sure it wasn't a piracy site in 2007
