Online will be a big improvement for this one. Sometimes you may just want to chill and the other people wants to keep running around like assholes, so you can just drop out of the party and play alone.

I mean, Final Fantasy has always been either on Nintendo or Sony consoles. It wasn't until very recently that they started coming to other platforms. It's licensing, and I don't know why people can't understand that. This spoiled brat mentality that gamers have is just gross. What happened to people complaining about the lack of exclusivity that made a console worth buying? You want Switch or PS4 games? Buy a Switch or a PS4 and stop demanding that companies cater to you.

So companies should cater to a government that didn't notify us about the coronavirus until it was too late? That controls every aspect of their citizens' lives? A government who's human rights violations are typical of "But that wasn't "real" Marxism/Communism/Socialism" countries?

Again, say it with me:

Fuck the Chinese government.

Nobody said it wasn't. Nobody had a PC that could run it, either.

Really? Got any evidence to back up no one being able to run it?

My anus is ready.
Tell us more about the readiness of your sphincter.
You want to pluck the game in thy rectal hole? Maybe to make it dissappear?
Final Fantasy, indeed.
But please, regale us with more details.

Umm wut. You said it hasn't come to other platforms until "very recently." Also what do you mean "nobody had a pc that could run it." It's embarasssing that you're talking so confidently about something you clearly know nothing about...

I never had powerhouse PCs and could run it just fine, even with the occasional bug.
Of course I had it on PSX, so playing on PC a game that I finished 3 or 4 times wasn't a motive to buy it.

Well damn, another reason to get a Switch yet again. Still a shame I sold my console because life costs money.

do you guys not have phones?:rofl2:
No one in their sane mind will want to play the Android version.

This is mildly disappointing. Coming to phones, but not PC? I don't even play my Switch anymore. Come on...

Actually, why is it coming to every current platform but Xbox and PC? That makes no logical sense. The phones are getting it... What?

I think thats very strange too. Cant imagine what happened to convince them its a good choice. What im most concerned about is not that its not coming to PC or such, its that it is coming to Smartphones. That means either there are multiple versions of the game and the Mobiles geht lower settings so they can run it, or it will look like a Morbol has eaten it already twice for everyone.

I think squenix is not convinced this entry has a market on PC market so they want to capitalize console gamers first and the casuals. Hope it will eventually sees a PC release though. Final fantasy fables seems treated this way too.

Well, the mobile versions make sense. In the Chinese market, mobile gaming is huge.

I remember when I got this game for the Gamecube. But most people probably never got to enjoy this game the way it was intended back in the day, because you needed a GameCube, 2+ GBAs, GC/GBA cables, and the game. That was a super expensive setup for a single owner who wanted to provide the experience to house guests. I was lucky to have housemates who also owned GBAs and their own GC/GBA cable.

Anyway, I hope they do away with some of the super annoying aspects of the game: 1) dedicated chalice bearer, and 2) random objectives that may not even fit your character.

What do I not know about? And I'm assuming you played the game on PC in 1998 immediately upon release, since you seem to know what I'm talking about but I don't.

It was only fun when you didn't have to carry the chalice, and when the loot system worked out well for everyone. But this was definitely one of the worst Final Fantasy games for me (and I've played through every single game that came out for Nintendo or Sony systems and whose title included the phrase Final Fantasy, except for 14 and 15).

Nice they have cross-play, but its disappointing to not be coming to PC. That said, I have to wonder about the Android / mobile version, as I've had great frustration with some of them ; likewise, when SquareEnix Android/iOS ports come to PC they're often hobbled by their mobile lineage and not really improved when (and if) they're moved over. I'd rather see the title get the kind of PC focused QA the port deserves.

Lots of ostensibly Japanese developed/related titles (including Nintendo's Fire Emblem Heroes ; pity its a gatcha-type instead of releasing proper Fire Emblem titles there!) seem to have an extremely frustrating language option - notably using Android's locale to set the language exclusively. That is to say, if your device is set to the US, the game will run with English text/subtitles/UI + English audio. Japanese audio IS present in the game's files, as is evidenced by switching the Android locale to Japan (which affects your Android OS globally, among other issues) allows you to play the game with JP audio, but it also sets text/subtitles/UI to JP as well! There are no options to manually switch voice or text languages independently and just for the game itself, which is incredibly frustrating. A very simple toggle built into the app to choose those options independently and locally would have made things so much easier, but lacking them is the level of quality I've begun to expect from many (but not all) mobile ports - especially those farmed out to a 3rd party studio like DotEmu or whatnot.

I can remember how this exact experience with Final Fantasy IV (remake 3D version based on 3DS) on Android prompted me to mess around with various dev tools seeking a way around it, only to find that other titles like the more recent Fire Emblem Heroes also use this low-effort-high-frustration localization option too! This also impacted the audio options of Final Fantasy IV when it came to PC, as it was a port made from the Android version, though thankfully the PC file format was more accessible and an "undub" could be created after sometime and effort - though it should not have been required!

I can remember playing Crystal Chronicles from ages ago and a remaster could be a worthwhile return; lets hope it is made with quality and ideally, released for PC in addition to other platforms.
