New aerial photo shows full view of Super Nintendo World theme park from above

While the opening of Super Nintendo World might not be as soon as some may have hoped, due to the ongoing COVID-19 problem delaying the Tokyo 2020 Olympics--the park's planned opening window, the construction of the new park is certainly coming along despite that. An Instagram user has captured an aerial shot of the theme park, giving an idea of the scale of some of the attractions, and what the area will look like when it does open. In the past, a handful of select photographs were taken from above hovering outside the park, showing off an under-construction level flagpole surrounded by walls obscuring everything else below. In this latest picture, we get to see all sorts of attractions, like Princess Peach's castle, Bowser's own castle, pyramids, warp pipes, and other details. It's not clear when Univeral Studios' Super Nintendo World will be open to the public, but the date might not be that far off.

Actually they're right it is sort of small. You can compare it by looking at the various cars and busses in the photo.
Still looks like a fun place to spend a day!
I don't think it's small and when we see it open I think most people wil say bigger than expected from this photo

The park is literally the size medium parking lot. Hell six flags has parking lots bigger than that whole park

didn't meant to thumbnail the previous one
but you can see here it is quite small using that bus (which we all know the approximate size of) as a reference

What's missing is a Mario Kart track going through and around it, and getting to ride on an actual kart.

Missed opportunity.

Yeah, Karts is definitely something they need on the park.

Heck a company was making money by selling unlicensed Mario Kart karts some years ago.

That little boy I once was is still inside me and he's excited for this.

But who really knows how long this pandemic is gonna go on...
The flood gates are gonna open and people go out and some don't know they're infected.

That is the job of a good park designer. There are all sorts of tricks of design you can employ to make a space feel bigger than it is, never realise the thing is as small as it is.

The big green border around the outside means nothing on the horizon to get a sense of scale and you will always been looking up. Lots of indoor stuff there as well.

The twisty path around the place rather than a grid or simple track. Keeps people guessing at size, makes them walk a bit further and feel like they have done more.
Ikea do something similar in their shops
https://conorintensiveproduction.wordpress.com/2015/02/03/ikeas-one-way-system-4/
Supermarkets are also masters of this (see left right switching depending upon the side of the road that people drive on in that country, how fruit and veg will usually be the first thing you meet, bread the last, milk in the other corner of the shop, how things go at eye level and on and on).

In Disney they make the streets get narrower as they go along which makes thing in the distance look further (and thus bigger) than they are, along with a whole bunch of other forced perspective

To that end yeah if someone, or a whole gaggle of someones, did their job properly then you will not notice it on the ground unless you go looking. That does not however stop it from actually being small so unless they are going to make a giant museum of Nintendo consoles it is going to be small.

That's SuperNintendo cluster of the theme park. They will add the Famicom, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Virtual Boy, Nintendo64, Gamecube, Gameboyadvance, and Nintendo DS clusters for the complete one.
Of course, they plan to add the more recent consoles as well, but later.
