i read some where they still are. i want to have a PS3 with some sort of hack to play some games i missed on the system. also the other reason why i want one hacked is remote play for the vita i heard that if it's hacked the PS3 and PS vita it can remote play.

also i want to make one account hacked and use my main account on that PS3 do you think that's a good idea let me know here.

Personally I use multiple accounts just to be sure.
Ps3 1 is banned so no issue
Ps3 2 is cfw and not banned (yet) so account 1
1 psvita and vitatv are hacked so account 2 for these
1 psvita and ps4 are ofw so account 3 for these

Yeah you can still get banned, having multiple accounts could help, but is kind of silly because if they ban your console
you're shit outta luck

for the most part, if you're only using the PS3 CFW to play games, you should be safe. As long as you don't alter the EBOOT file with a hacked version. I used a PS3 with CFW from the time CFWs were available until about 2016 before getting banned. The ONLY reason I got banned is because I was playing Destiny (which requires you to sign into PSN) and then I switched over to Call of Duty with a modified EBOOT file and forgot to sign out of PSN after playing Destiny. I wasn't even playing multiplayer on CoD, I was just playing around with a modified EBOOT. First time I had messed around with one. It is best to use a separate account on a PS3 with CFW as well. If your account gets banned, you can't use it for anything involving PSN...so it would be banned on Vita, PS4 and the upcoming PS5. If it's a console ban, then you CAN purchase a ConsoleID and get back online but there is no guarantee that it will last. I've been fortunate enough to purchase a ConsoleID ONCE and it's lasted for about 3 years so far. However, i'm not using modified EBOOT files anymore.

Never gotten Banned on my PS3 but as a heads up never use your PSN on the same account as your PS4. Sony banned my account on my PS4 when I first got it.

Luckily it was just account banned but this was back in 2014 idk how it is now

But a console ban and account ban probably go together.
So if all my devices are on the same account... Then an account ban will make all purchases on all devices being lost/gone forever.
That's why I have multiple accounts..... If my cfw vita is banned (and that account along with it ) my ps4 and ofw vita are still safe (and all bought games and dlc also)

This is what I do:
By default I go into network settings then custom internet connection setting. When you get to dns change it to another value ex: 3.0.0.0.
It prevent you from accessing the internet while you can access to and from your computer. Homebrew all you please.

If you ever need it back change the value to 0.0.0.0 (or 1.1.1.1lol)

a mini necrobump but I think it is needed in case anyone reads the previous post

DO NOT set it to 1.1.1.1
That is a real DNS provided by CloudFlare and will work for internet access
1.1.1.1 existed back when the previous response was posted in May 2020 so I am not sure why they said that jokingly.

it's not completely automated. the flagging system is, but there's a person that goes over it afterwards. that's why it's not instant. it takes about 7-10 days to get banned from time of incident and maybe a couple more to receive the email.

I've seen the guy in charge of bannings on the xbox. I think he got promoted a few years ago. he's a big guy with a mustache (can't recall his name). I don't know who oversees it on the playstation 3.
