ROM Hack How to cheat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

When I enable the cheats, they don't work. Everything is updated to the latest, and the txt file is named appropriately. Can someone help me?

Is it possible that the game has cheat detection and alters spawn rate as a response? I just did a test where I had EdiZon load a cheat txt file but kept all of them disabled, then I used fishing bait at the same spot to catch fish. Out of the 800 or so fish I caught, all of them were 1-star in rarity and nothing 2-stars or above would spawn. I can't tell if this is some kind of anti-cheat mechanism or if my luck is just spectacularly bad.

Edit: I'm compiling a list of fish caught and stats. There's definitely something strange going on with the RNG.

Edit2: Turns out it might not be cheat detection, but something else. Certain conditions can cause the game to only spawn bottom-tier fish.

anyone know of a tick speed mod/cheat? I'm trying to terraform and just do things faster in general and hoped that I could speed up the game. Btw not talking about player movement speed. would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out.

First, you need to check if your switch is hackable. I forgot the link, but I'm someone will link and to the instructions.

The cheats are working but when I scroll down the 5th cheat, it crashes. Can someone help me out?

How do you uninstall hbg shop properly? When I enter hotkeys for EdiZon it says I have no overlays. I believe if I can uninstall hbg shop it'll be one less error

When I launch animal crossing it doesn't let me pick an overlay. I press the button config but it shows no overlays. I made sure to move the files in the correct spots but it doesn't work. Not sure what to do.

Edit: Got it working.

The overlay works fine for me but it says there arent any cheats loaded, i'm using the right tid and bid as well.

Does anyone know where the save file for this game gets written to? I ask because I'm using Atmosphere/emuMMC to boot the game and use the cheats. It saves and I can load the save just fine.

However when I then jump out of the CFW and boot into stock CFW and load up Animal Crossing, my save is an older one that have no items I added via cheats when I was booted into Atmosphere.

Anyone else ever run into this? It has to be that there are two save files somewhere. Assuming one on the system storage, and one on the emuMMC filesystem that gets mounted. But not sure where to find what, and what to overwrite.

When you create an emuMMC it's a copy of your system NAND and that's the one you're cheating in.
When you boot back to your system nothing you did in your emuMMC copy can be seen by stock, whether or not you're booting cfw or not.
If you're booting CFW on your system NAND anyway just use Edizon there.

Some question about AC, I do some mistake, use CFW device spawn DIY then trade to clean device. And then clean device craft something (campsite construction kit) can i delete it when i travel to CFW device island? Any cheat can clear visitors inventory (What happen if my island have 2 campsite?)

And I scare to get the ban as I don't know how to go online safely. I heard this is a 90DNS connection but I still dont know how to use it.

Am I required to upgrade to firmware 10.0.1 for this to work? I am on 9.2 right now (can't remember my automasphere version ATM) I just don't want to upgrade unless I absolutely have to. I am one of those old fashioned if it works don't fix it and risk it kind of guys.

It should work on 9.2, but I think Tesla overlay was updated recently so I'm not entirely sure. That's really the only part of the guide where I'm not sure if the newest version of Tesla is too new or what.

It is not safe to do this. You risk a ban anytime you edit your save or use any cheat code while playing online. Even giving away cheated items could flag other people's Switches. Nintendo has the ability to tell if your game has interacted with other hacked consoles/items. It's incredibly unlikely that Nintendo is ever going to ban people who obtained hacked items via trading but there's a small chance if you're someone who uses EdiZon overlay/JKSV or whatever. Both methods have already been reported to cause bans.

The only 'safe' way to cheat is to play offline, Nintendo can't detect anything obviously if you just never get online.

Wrong, you can perfectly fine use cheats since that's all done offline. There's no way to detect if an item is modified. I transfer stuff to my clean switch all the time.
