Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have discovered a new item duplication glitch

When Animal Crossing: New Horizons first launched, players were quick to find a bug that let them dupe items. It was quite easy to use as well, and when the glitch gained traction, Nintendo acted quickly in patching the glitch out. Now, a new dupe glitch has been discovered in the latest version: 1.2.0. Otherwise known as the Earth Day update, Nintendo brought a whole host of new features to the game, though they most certainly didn't intend for one of them to be an abusable bug. It's not as seamless as the original glitch, but by placing a 2x2 table and moving a 2x1 sized table with an item on top of it just right, you'll spawn duplicate versions of your item the next time you enter the room. A user putting this method in action can be seen above. If you really want to make use of this, you probably want to do so before Nintendo inevitably patches this one out too.

Is there really anything to gain from duping? I haven't played the game yet (getting it today) so I don't really know, can you sell duped stuff? I'm not going to use the glitch, but I'm just wondering.

I think what most people do (that can't use cheats) is dupe high-value items to sell for quick money, rather than wait the full week for turnip selling.

Some item are just so rare but you need a bunch of them to decorate the whole town, this is the answer.

Well... Turnips don't get you 100 000 000 bells in like an hour or two x).

I'm talking about dupe in general.

Duping the crown was giving 11 millions per batch, a batch was taking around 5 to maybe 8min depending on the ability to maintain a high rate of success.

On this glitch I have some questions, can big fishs (that are 2x1) be put on theses kind of tables on this game ?

After checking the source, yeah not doing this one:

"WARNING! This glitch is a bit dangerous and there are little chances of your game getting bugged. Use this glitch at your own risk.

If you get a bug and can’t place items over 2x1 tables, don’t panic. Place a big, tall item in the room (monster statue for example). If you manage to place it, move it around the room. If you can’t place it, try doing the same with smaller, but tall items (tall lantern for example). This will delete any invisible glitched items and fix the bug."

If only the Big N focused more on its security rather than fun glitches that exploits the fun of a game.
