Command and Conquer Remastered Collection release date confirmed

Back in 2018, EA announced that they would be remastering two classic games from the Command & Conquer series. It's been a while since we first heard the news of Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert (and their expansions) getting a modern release, but now EA is ready to show the remasters to the world for the first time. In a trailer that reveals a first-look at the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, we learn that the games will have 4K remastered graphics, including upscaled versions of the original FMVs. In addition, players will be able to toggle between the new graphics and the old, at any time. Multiplayer features have been revamped and modernized to let you search for different game modes, or easily host your own match. The original composer for the game has returned to remaster the music in higher quality, and has added in previously unreleased tracks as well.

The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection will launch on PC for Steam and Origin on June 5, 2020. For those that enjoy a physical release, Limited Run Games will be providing one, with pre-orders lasting until april 10th.

Wait, wait wait...

A good AND interesting announcement ?
Hell's gonna freeze.

No one can resist Joe Kucan charisma (and sense of humour, seriously)

To be fair C&C Generals deserves a re-release in its own right, I'd happily see a Collector's of that too.

Generals still works on modern hardware and with a couple of very simple .ini tweaks even works in 4K and Ultra-wide screen. I have it on Origin and was playing zero hour just yesterday perfectly at 3440x1440. It still runs and feels great!!

As a console peasant I've cast off the shackles of the monitor and the desk for the convenience and comfort of the couch, so I still call for a lovely UHD remaster, but yeah - stuff like this is where PC has a clear advantage. Tweaking oldies to be goodies after many years is something us controller plebs rarely get to experience. :P

When I say I like the C&C games I really only mean I like Red Alert 2 and by that I mean I really only like Yuri's Revenge.

I've tried to get into things like Star Craft but every time I do I just end up thinking "but I could be playing Yuri's...

Have a PS4 & Xbox One controller with the PC hooked up my TV as a 2nd screen just so I can relax on the sofa for the games more suited to it. GTA, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, racing and fighting games etc, all better on the sofa with a controller. Steam has made leaps & bounds with big picture mode... You can set it so when activated, big picture mode automatically loads onto the 2nd screen (TV), sound goes over there and then everything is controlled from a controller with a perfect console layout :)

I've always had consoles as well, owned all of them from the Playstation onward. This current gen is the only gen I've skipped apart from owning a Switch. I don't count the Switch as a current gen console though because it's so different from the others lol
