Team-Xecuter has announced that pre-orders are starting TODAY for their new Switch mod-chips.

We even get a extra treat, finally a clear picture of their SX LITE installed in a Switch Lite motherboard, as you can see in the photo above, and also the pricing is only $45.95 and includes their SX OS license, but you can use other CFW as well, and looks like the selected testers will finally be getting their units by end of next week, so lots of good news all around!

First of all, we hope you and your families are safe and healthy during this global pandemic that has hit our civilization hard.

We got many questions about the current status of our new products, and after many hurdles we are excited to announce we will be opening up preorders for our SX Core and SX Lite products starting today.

Just like the SX Pro, the retail price for the SX Core and SX Lite is currently fixed at $45.95 and comes with a free SX OS License (although you are free to not use SX OS, of course).

All distributors and vendors will start taking preorders in the next hours/days. We want to give you this heads up to give everyone an equal opportunity to be among the first to receive their retail copy of the next generation of Team Xecuter's finest products for your beloved Switch consoles!

Those of you who were selected for the private beta (you know who you are!) should get their review units shipped towards the end of next week. After their sanity check and feedback are in we will ramp up production and strive to deliver the retail preorders around the end of April.

So for now, the wait is finally almost over, we can now starting ordering our modchips, and soon we will see first-hand feedback from selected testers that will be getting their units soon, so stay tuned for more news soon!

Here's hoping someone will make a thorough guide. I mean dismantling half of the Switch, desolder a shield, re-applying coolingpaste, etc. etc. Can you use a regular soldering-iron or do I need to use an 8w/12v one? Can I use kynar or a thicker wire?

Russian site ( where I preordered it ) says it will arrive approximately on 30th of april

I highly doubt that, they still haven't send the test chips to the testers.

I think they're, at least, 1 week behind their (already tight) schedule; according one of their latest announcements.


I hope this week the beta testers will receive their units and we can start knowing more things about the chip and installation.

I think there is possibility that they already got chips but they are not allowed to tell about it .
Also I hope that chips will be easy to install as they said.

Looking at the photos a no solder option could be a possibility. If it's not, then it's going to be very minimal soldering.

If it was a no solder chip they definitely say something. That's a HUUUUGE selling point. They would easily have sold out of preorders across the board. They know this and there is absolutely 0% chance it is no solder completely... It wouldn't be an issue for anyone to pre-order if they KNEW it was solderless...

I agree, but it could also be a way to stop 10x the pre-orders whilst they get their stock in order.
The image they've released shows no wires, just a few ribbons but I also think it'll require minimal soldering. But we can hope, right?

That may be the case for regular switches but as @NicholeMattera pointed out to me if it requires plugging the nand in to the chip as is shown in the pictures then you will need to reball the nand on a Switch Lite since it is soldered directly to the motherboard instead of using a daughter board like on the regular switch.

There is the possibility of test points on the PCB somewhere, however from looking at pictures on iFixIt I didn't see any test points in between the eMMC and the SoC. Really only time will tell. I find it really strange that they would take pre-orders and release a modchip that would require you to remove the eMMC, which is BGA soldered on to the motherboard on the Switch Lite.

This is 100% true. I couldn't imagine them ever doing something like this. I could definitely see 5-10 solder points with wires, but I don't see this being an install job like the UltraHDMI for the n64...

I am more concerned over the Ninty FW 10.0.X and if the chips still work. Haven't heard anything on that front!
I do wish they could be more up front with things like this.

im getting a v2 switch along side my lite, just incase the install is crazy.
if it requires reballing, ill just do it for my lite and dump it for sale, but aint doing it as a service.

and just incase, i havent preordered yet, just waiting to see how crazy its going to be before jumping on board

I wonder how difficult it is to install. Only hard mod I've ever installed was the original Jtag for 360. Is that enough experience?
