Hardware Convert NTFS-formatted Wii HDD to FAT32 without losing backups?

So I made a mistake and converted my Wii's external HDD to NTFS when it was previously FAT32. This caused USB Loader GX to run very very slowly, which pissed me off to no end, so I decided I needed to convert it back. I tried using AOMEI Partition Assistant, but it encountered several mysterious errors and refused to convert the disk despite no other programs having trouble accessing it. Is there another FREE (I have no money, and even if I did I'm not wasting my money on a shitty program that I'll only ever use once) piece of software that would do that for me?

It works but it needs "some" Time (for a 1 TB Drive "some" Hours..)

Yeah, go watch a movie or somethin... it takes a WHILE! Especially with wbfs files 2Gb or larger
