First let me say thank you to everyone and for the advice. Yes I understand I did something I was not to do. Yes I understand that I am new and am learning and bricking the system is a risk and I am ok with that. The fun is in the adventure! Now that all that is out of the way!

I do have a complete backup of the Wii U all files. MLC , otp, seeprom, slc, slccmpt.

This system was already modified and I installed Haxchi over the already CBHC game.

System will show -5 when I hit A - config.txt =

a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
default=fw.img

it will just loop the Wii U screen that says menu.

If I power on from game pad then I get option menu's but nothing will load.

I am open for any suggestions, if it is dead it is dead. I may as well spend quarantine trying to fix it! Thanks for the replies and if there is anything you need from me please let me know I will provide whatever information you need. Thanks!

Just trying to get background information for your scenario to better understand.

Question, if you already had Haxchi installed, which you are referring it to CBHC, which is Coldboot Haxchi, what were you trying to achieve or the purpose that you decided you wanted to reinstall Haxchi?

I have not done a install on a Wii U ... I am learning. This system was already modified however it was patchworked because certain files were wmissing and I am novice. I was basically going through and trying to understand where the install was at and I completely spaced the fact Ito not overwrite the file like the HUGE RED WARNINGS everywhere explained to NEVER DO!

I was tired and frustrated and just did not comprehend the action in the moment I needed to.....

So had CBHC installed then reinstalled updated HAXCHI I downloaded from HB App store over the file I should not have.

I am ready to try to fix!

Do you still have the homebrew launcher in that location?

Nice check, looks like when I was going through the process I remember reading to update to homebrew_launcher.rpx instead of .elf.

So should I put back the original .elf file or can I edit the Haxchi config.txt file to run the .rpx file?

I will try as soon as I hear word. Thanks for this idea!

By the way, my goal is to get this system functional enough to UNINSTALL EVERYTHING back to stock so I can go through the system mod from scratch myself from beginning to end. I believe I have a much better comprehension now as to the process and what I am actually installing which is great!

I learn the best tactile, need hands on training for myself to learn best with video or written word.

So thanks to everyone who has written these awesome tutorials and all you that are lending their advice to my issue.

The error code -5 means that the file could not be found/couldn't read/couldn't open. Although I personally do not use CBHC, I don't think you can simply edit the config file because you'd still have to re-install Haxchi for the changes to take effect. Also not sure this works with CBHC

DON'T do that for now. Put back the original .elf file and see what happens first.

If selecting "B" means deleting/Uninstalling CBHC, then yes.

Your 2nd question a bit tricky to answer in my case. If you were to do a full format, then I am sure the answer is yes, you can get your own account on the system. HOWEVER, a full format would also delete whatever User is currently tied to the system, and if their account is removed, so is the Brain Age game they used to originally install Haxchi.

Your best bet is to wait for someone with a little more experience with CBHC to answer that question

Just wanna make sure: You got this system from someone else who previously hacked it, and you have access to their account on the system?

Yes the account is on the system and active.

Unfortunately the person I purchased it from is less than honest and I cannot speak with them on the system.

I was worried they may also recover their account and brick the system or something. That is why I would like to reformat and start from brand new scratch.

Put all my info on the system , buy the brain age game under my account and start the process over.

@XaneTenshi I truly appreciate you assistance on this as well! Thank you.

Alright, just needed to be sure. If you intend to do a full format and purchase Brain Age yourself, there should be no issues.

Just MAKE SURE to delete CBHC first, before doing a full format. Otherwise, your Wii U will Brick.

No problem man, Just glad I could help^_^

Ok AWESOME!

Thank you @XaneTenshi - I will go do this now and update soon. Thanks again - my wife and kids thank you as well!

*Update -

So I ran CBHC and selected the Brain Age game and I clicked B to uninstall.

Verification screen said uninstalled and NAND dumped ( I believe thats what it says).

I still have the file the says NEVER TOUCH in my channels - Should that have changed when I uninstalled CBHC?

How does one verify that indeed it has been unistalled so I can feel confident to remove that file then re-format the system to start over from scratch?

I was able to find the solution to this , just load settings and check firmware is now 5.5.x instead of 99.99.99. Good there-

Moving on!

I can not seem to locate the DO NOT TOUCH in the data management to delete it.

If I go into the Do Not Touch file in channels it opens a folder that shows HAXCHI icon and if I attempt to hit delete I get an error message that says "Folders that have contents cannot be deleted.

Should I then delete Haxchi altogether then delete the folder?

Well, you could try to reboot the system. If you got a boot menu with options before and you now no longer do, CBHC should be successfully uninstalled.

This is all just (researched!) theory on my part, but the "Never Touch" file should be the Brain Age game that was initially installed. Doesn't the file come with an icon that indicates it is the Brain Age game?

I BELIEVE it is completely safe to uninstall that now, but cannot say so with 100% certainty. Could I get an image of what it looks like?

I am working on photos now will be about 10 minutes I have to get stuff set up properly.

Internet is sooooo slow iwhere I am quarentined....

Here is the screenshot showing my firmware is now 5.5.3 U after uninstall of CBHC which the firmware was 99.99.99.

1.jpg

Then I have Photos of the DO NOT TOUCH File Folder

2.jpg

And finally the file inside of the DO NOT TOUCH folder

3.jpg

If you attempt to delete the file in the folder you get the following message:

4.jpg

AF1QipOcfAKQSvFx_uhsQWs08BVIPEmv92eRuJJuC2hi

Think I should uninstall Haxchi then the DO NOT TOUCH folder
- Reboot
- Remove the old registered owner
- Delete the Brain Age game
- Reformat the system
- Start with a fresh install on a fresh system with my info and I will buy a new Brain Age game from the store under my account.

Think that is the proper steps?

Gonna reply here so I don't quote a huge ass post.

Your "ToDo" is fine, but I'd delete the Brain Age game first, before removing the owner account.

Also I am starting to realize that the Installer/uninstaller you used, only uninstalled CBHC. Technically, it looks like you still have Regular Haxchi installed. In order to remove that under System Management, you need to move it out of the folder called "Don't Ever Touch" first.

Just checked, there are 2 Installers, one for Regular HC, and one for CBHC. That's why you are still not seeing the Brain Age game anywhere. Haxchi is installed over it. Honestly, you could probably just delete Haxchi from System Management and you'd be good to go, but if you want, it could be a good idea to use the regular Haxchi Installer to uninstall Haxchi first, THEN uinstall the DS game.

For Clarity,

I want to boot the system load Haxchi - Select Brain Age game and then B to unistall?

Or am I looking for a different method to uninstall Haxchi?

Apologies for not having clarity.

Yes exactly, but if you want to follow the 100% safe route, you need to use the regular Haxchi Installer to uinstall Haxchi. Do you only have 1 Installer on the SD Card?

EDIT: Okay, we can't keep this up forever. Try this:

Go here https://wiiu.hacks.guide/get-started and scroll down to "The latest release of Haxchi and CBHC". Get the regular version of Haxchi (Haxchi v2.5u2) and put that on the SD Card. Run the Installer from the HomeBrew Menu (Like you normally would) and select to uninstall Haxchi from Brain Age. Once that is done, Brain Age should appear like a normal DS title. Then go to Data Management and delete that.

Profit
