I tried running Micro Mages download play multiplayer on 3DS once. It worked fine when I was downloading to another hacked 3DS, but I also had problems when downloading to a non-hacked 3DS.
Ah, that makes sense. Pity. By now you'd think there would be a way to fake the DLplay signature!

There is even a way to inject genesis roms into 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 giving you multiplayer. I've already tested it on Contra Hard Corps with two hacked 3dses and it works great. Would've been nice if it was added to one of the injectors since right now they only support retroarch which has no multiplayer support, albeit much higher game compatibility.

I also tried the NES once. Chip n Dale worked fine but a multiplayer hack for Ducktales wouldn't even start. Running on 2 hacked 3dses of course.

There used to be a more thorough explanation on 3dsiso but that is sadly gone now. Couldn't find it on webarchive since you have to login and that doesn't work ofc. Maybe someone who saved it could share it so it's not lost.

for me the nes ones just don't work (then again I don't have TWO hacked systems, so I guess it just can't fake the signature)

whoa whoa this is big news. I've been looking for Multiplayer enabled Genesis injection for a couple of years now.

Yeah it's weird not more people talk about it. People just abandoned VC injection for genesis as soon as retroarch became an option for compatibility reasons. The games that work are a bit hit and miss. I'd like to create my own but now that there is no real guide available anymore I'm not sure I'd be able to since I remember looking at the guide and thinking it was a bit convoluted. I could try looking at the injections I have and see if I can replicate them through the means of what we have from the thread I linked to earlier, and then write a guide of course. Can't promise anything though.

whoa whoa this is big news. I've been looking for Multiplayer enabled Genesis injection for a couple of years now.
So I actually did find out how to inject the roms after a lot of struggling, mostly because of deprecated programs. I'll make a write up of it soon as I've figured the last couple of things, like if you can choose to emulate the 6 button controller or not, because Lost vikings doesn't work right now since I can't map the x y z buttons.

I have made a Pokemon Crystal cia inject from a Pokemon Crystal gbc rom. I chose the same title ID as the original virtual console version. That is the reason, why Pokemon Mover sees my Pokemon Crystal save game.

Is it save to use Pokemon Mover with this title? It seems to use the savegame only, not the title itself. But I am not 100% sure.

Edit: Another question: I would like my cia to have the original product code. However, in the ultimate injector, I can only change the last 4 characters, But I would like to change the first characters from CGB-P- to CTR-N-, but this field is not editable.

Its fine to use the save title with the game. just make sure to backup your savefile before installing. And the product code isnt something you can change.

Before installing what exactly? I didnt quite understand what you mean.

Do a savegame backup before using pokemover?

If you mean backup of the virtual console version: I dont have the virtual console version, i have only the injected one and chose the same title id, which a virtual console version would have.

I'd like to request the "CIA Header product code" be an editable value for gba projects (and probably other system projects too, i havent checked)- by default, gameboy advance product codes are locked to being "agb-p-xxxx" with only the last 4 symbols being customizable. this is in direct contrast to existing legitimate gba virtual console titles, such as minish cap ("ctr-n-pake") and metroid fusion ("ctr-n-paee"). i'm not sure how to change that value myself, if someone could tell me what to edit internally i can just rebuild the nsui in visual studio and fix it myself

I'm having a weird problem where a chunk of the top of the game display moves to the bottom of the display.
It has only happened on the Sonic Advance 3 rom, and I've tried using multiple copies from different regions.

How can I fix this?
