GCN I'm getting a Xeno modchip and an SD2SP2 adapter. Just a question.

I'm not really familiar with GC homebrew but used multi iso GC discs on my wii... anyway not the point.

I'm wondering, when I burn my Swiss iso on a Mini DVD, can I put some homebrew software on the disc aswell like GBI so the disc is not entirely wasted (wasted not being the best word bwcause it'll be very useful!)

just a simple thought I had.

Load them from your MicroSD card

Yes, you can put all your homebrew on the CD as well. Swiss can browse the contents of it and load whatever you need.

Hope this response was more helpful.

I don't want to do the hassle with save exploit nor any BS I want to boot into swiss and get going... I have multiple GameCubes, what if I want to hard mod it?

I installed a NTSC/J to NTSCU switch for my GBPlayer cd. (Orange GC)

I really don't see why you're acting like that toward such a simple question.

thanks @Rune

I'm curious as to how this would work as Swiss on a mini dvd would be from a ISO file, wouldn't i need to build a new ISO containing the new apps?

Good point, I guess I didnt think this through. Normally what I'd have is a Swiss ISO on a disc, and a separate disc with all the homebrew on that I'd swap over to. So I assumed this wouldnt be a problem if the files were also burnt on the same CD.
I'd suggest just adding the homebrew to the Swiss ISO using something like PowerISO, and then burning it.

I'll check it out, I just want an easy to use mini DVD without the need of having the SD card inserted, in case my girlfriend wants to use the GC for GameBoy Player and since GBI has better image it'll be cool.

BTW I'm building a GB Player controller out of a broken GBA and a broken GC controller, I need the rubber pads but it should be very cool to play with it!

So, if I simply take the various GBI dols, (regular HF and SR versions) and put them in an app folder at the root of the ISO, when the swiss dol is loaded it should see the app folder and allow me to launch any one of these right?

The thing to remember with homebrew like Swiss and GBI is that they are very regularly updated and often with significant improvements so burned discs can become obsolete quickly.

There was no point in getting a Gamecube. A mediocre PC should be able to handle Dolphin ?
Thanks @Rune

@Bimmel as stated before I already had the GC, the GBplayer (actually two of both)

I really don't care about PC emulation, I have a NES with Everdrive, a Snes with SD2SNES, I have an N64 with an everdrive, a GBA Everdrive and also am looking forward to the Saturn Satiator very much. I was considering the PSIO but I didn't pull the trigger on that since many PlayStation consoles can play PS1 discs and digitally bought games. (plus all the classic systems)

And as for the updates @subcon959 I can always put more recent versions on the SD card itself and boot those with the old Swiss. no?

As I said I know I could get everything to work through the mini SD slot but I really like to tinker with that stuff so I'm making an all in one disc.

Any essential homebrew I should know of and include in my disc? (other than emulators since I made it clear I don't care about that haha!)

You can use a save game exploit to boot Swiss fromam an SD card and Swiss can launch burnt discs without a modchip. It's a huge hassle though as you'd have to execute that save game exploit everytime you'd want to launch burnt discs and that can take a few minutes depending on the game
