Hacking Animal Crossing New Horizons / Lan Play.

Hello just wondering if anyone knows if you can connect a modded switch to a retail none modded one via lan / local play so I can drop some items ect on the legit one?

My modded switch is on latest sx / atmos and the game is up to date on both.

How did you get it working I have been trying for a few days and it wont connect at all

Do any particular setup? Ie certain internet settings sx / atmos settings ect?

if you have ldn_mitm enabled, you must disable it, otherwise your modded switch will try to connect over the internet

LAN play doesnt need router/switch (ie the equipement not the console) or any equipement, it use adhoc play by connecting the switchs directly, we have 2 switchs here and 2 copy of the game, we already did it a few times.

(it actually disable internet to use the adhoc play)

Remember you can't PLACE items in the world on adhoc play (even in houses ? I don't remember), you can only drop them.

You do it on the airport thing in the south.

I'm not the one who paly AC really so my memory is not perfect, but, IIRC, one open the doors, by choosing a color, the other one search switchs with open doors by choosing the same color then connect to the found console.

Isn't it right ?

Yes this is correct and what I have been doing opening them on the SX/Atmos one and then trying to join from my legit one but with no luck.

I've tried it without the ldn_mitm enabled also and still nothing

Been connecting to my non hacked switch since it has been out. Once I oppened the gates I had no issues except the consoles need to be fairly close, if more than 12 ft or so apart the connection gets dropped so no playing on two different TVs for me.

I will double check both ways, I think for the most part the legit switch has been opening the gates and then the hacked one had no issues coming over. I would have thought we have traveled from legit to hacked but its possible we havent gone that way yet. Will check now if the kids are not playing other things on them.

Actually that was exactly what they were doing when I went down, hacked switch oppened the gates and the legit on picked local play and seen the hacked ones island right away to fly to. So I have had no issues going between both.

Both on the latest firmware, both with the latest update on the game, no Nintendo ID for hacked switch, digital version of the game on legit switch. Since the hacked console has never been online it should not be banned in anyway. Not running any special things on the hacked switch, just the latest Atmosphere, no cheats.

Hope you get it going, we would be so bummed if we couldn't, 2 players on the same console is lacking so being able to play together locally is great and we did both hemispheres so we can have dual seasons and access to more variety of resources.

Let me know if there is any specific settings or anything I can check or confirm for you.

Hey guys, sorry for hijacking and need some advice for online play with my friend.

I am using SX OS and would like to play 'The snack world' with my friend but he is using a legit copy.
Is there any guides that allow us to connect online and play together? I believe the game has online and local wireless.
Anyone able to guide me and my friend?

Yes, both consoles on 9.2.0. Legit one updated normally through Nintendo servers, Hacked one using ChoiDujourNX and using AutoRCM (only 3 fuses burnt).

NSP installed on hacked, updated to 1.10 (haven't played with new update yet) and digitally purchased eshop game on the other. Hacked one had island set up with North American Northern Hemisphere location and my real local time, on the legit one island set up as Oceania Sothern Hemishphere but local time as my real local time.

I don't have or use SX OS, just the latest Atmoshpere.

Both consoles set up as North American regions.

This leads me to believe SX OS is out of date on their local wireless play, then. I do not have atmosphere, only SX OS. Thank you for sharing so much info!

I also am. having trouble connecting. I know I followed all the instructions correctly. I have atmosphere but still get the oh drumsticks messages. I can connect tot he server via my computer but nothing happens when I go to DoDo airlines for local play. Am i missing something? I would really appreciate any help.

I could not get my modded switch to find my unmodded switch locally when searching to go to my unmodded switch the first time, you need to set your modded switch to receive guests make sure you have localplay-sxos disabled or ldn-mitm* whatever its called for ams/kos, someone said it already but those dont allow local play in person they try connecting to the internet. Get the unmodded switch to visit the modded switch locally first, THEN it will work either way.

I found out that ldn_mitm on local play will actually block your local play with animal crossing new horizons. I disabled it and worked perfectly fine afterwards. I have the app from the Homebrew store. Took a good minute to try to figure it out when I didn't have it on in previous updates until recently.

My wife has the legit version and non hacked switch and I'm with the latest atmosphere and latest patches and hekate.
