We didn't get a fancy trailer showing off the latest DLC addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's roster, but we do have confirmation of who the next fighter will be. Keeping it short and to the point, Nintendo announced that "a fighter from ARMS" will be added to the game as part of the Fighters Pass 2. As to which character it is, that's still unknown at this point, but we'll likely learn more closer to the DLC's release, sometime this June.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: The first fighter in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be joining the battle from the Nintendo Switch game ARMS! The fighter will be announced and released this June.

Tbh I'm really happy about that. ARMS is a good game, it's not "gimmicky" as some say, as the motion controls not only are working great but also not necessary at all, with normal controls the game is still really good. ARMS really deserves a playable character in Smash. I really hope it will be Ribbon girl. It might also be Minmin but I would prefer Ribbon Girl, or her being a costume of Spring Man (becoming playable).

And it's still WAAAAAAY better than Byleth, honestly

The less Sword/Shield are advertised and seen, the more they're utterly forgotten as the promise-breaking, quality-deficit piles of refuse they are, the better.

Plenty of people wanted Daisy, Isabelle and Dark Samus. And just because half the fanbase has some inexplicable hatred towards everything Fire Emblem doesn't mean NOBODY wanted Lucina or Byleth.

I thought nintendo was going to drop arms for good after they abadoned a bunch of characters that were meant to be added with updates, but I guess they'll be in ARMS 2.

No, 1-2-Switch would be the Nintendo Land equivalent. This is the Switch equivalent of adding Inkling (which they've also done)- both are new IPs taking advantage of a new system to at least moderate success, both have inventive spins on their genre and neither one is an IP to scoff at or complain about.
