Gaming Spoofing Switch to think it is online for AC events

Hey everyone - I hope you're all enjoying AC!

Following the news, which suggests that we need an online connection to access the events, I was wondering if there was a way to spoof the switch into thinking it was online - even when it isn't.

Seems a strange request, but it would also be a workaround for time travelling!

I have (first thing I did when I woke up lol), but unfortunately I was banned back in mid-to-late 2018 due to adopting and messing around with cfw/homebrew before all the safety measures were added. So hopefully there is a way around this for those who don't pirate (which I know are few and far between)

Well it . Bad time with the whole virus thing but I the future just get another unit that's the best thing you can do. 9/10 you going to need online subscription anyway to access the events (Just like pokemon)

That's the thing, I don't really want to get another Switch so I guess I'll just have to live with it if there's no way around it, but I hadn't thought about the subscription side of things so hopefully that doesn't make a workaround harder

Not possible for me. But my brother has the game and can connect online. Maybe it's possible to join events when I am in his town.

Maybe possible through local play. I'm not bothered by this since I bought the game after a few hours of play with the early leak

There are rumors that the "You can access the * Event" Data can be dumped, we will need to wait for the easter event, to see how it will work out. Its pretty soon, so just wait.

This should all depend on how the data is handled. Presumably the event items are either already in the base-game code or will be supplied via patch. Either way it should only be a matter of locating the item ID's and hacking access to them via cheats or save data editing.

playing the event != giving yourself the items/ getting the items

Emulation (Not piracy if you rip your own game. It is piracy if you download said game, even if you own them.), save backup (checkpoint), Linux (To play some PC game on the go. Not everyone has the money for a gaming laptop.), homebrew games, cheats...
There's many reason one would want to have control over its console that does not involve piracy.
