People with OCD who like everything clean must be suffuring real bad right now. cant imagine people with anxiety right now.

How is your mental health right now? has this crisis effected you?
It's making me anxious, no doubt about it... like most others, I'm a son, a grandchild and a parent. My concerns are almost exclusively for those around me. I don't want them to get it, I don't want to give it to them and I don't want to not be able to provide for them if I get it myself.

Ah, I actually just made a blog post about this. Might as well throw it here also:

I'm very anxious about this whole situation. I'm in my final semester of law school and the school extended spring break by a week and then announced that all classes will be online until April 6th. It's inevitable that they'll extend that to the rest of the semester.

And the classes that I'm in don't work very well online. I have mock trials to do and you just can't reliably replicate the courtroom experience online. Things might switch from graded to pass/fail and if even a single one of my classes is cancelled, I won't have enough credits to graduate.

On top of that, I almost guarantee that the graduation ceremony will be cancelled as the CDC just recommended all events over 50 people should be cancelled. After 5 years of undergrad and 3 years of law school I won't get to walk across the stage wearing that octagon cap.

I also work in the legal field at a position that advocates for abused and neglected children. If court is cancelled and I have to work from home, these kids (who are now stuck inside with their messed up parents all day) are going to suffer and that's added stress for me to do my job well which can't be done from home.

Here's the real kicker... The bar exam. The bar exam is scheduled for late July so hopefully things are contained by then but if they're not then the ABA is going to either delay or cancel the bar exam (possibly across the country) which has a huge negative impact, not just for those of us trying to be lawyers, but for communities and firms where new young blood is necessary. Who knows if my job offer stands?

My parents informed me that they've most likely been exposed to the virus so I'm not allowed to visit them at this time. My grandpa is in the hospital and who knows if I'll ever be able to see him again? All the bars and restaurants are shut down for at least the rest of the month and a bunch of jerks bought all the toilet paper in town.

But hey... at least I have time to finish the God of War series now...

The overreaction my mom had to the coronavrus last month turned out to be a semi-normal reaction by the time this month rolled around. I don't need to leave the house for my work, and my dad is retired, so it's pretty much house arrest as it stands right now. I can get by just fine by playing games all day, but my parents get bored much more easily. I think they're the ones really stressing out about it, which in turn stresses me out. They're pretty high strung right now, and that gets really tiring when you sneeze due to allergies and both parents look at you and worry that you've got the virus. It's just stressful. The rest of my family doesn't seem to care about getting it, despite their older (~70) age range.

I'm not stressed/worried for myself personally, since I've worked from home the last 3+ years, and I watch my 1 year old daughter all day so neither of us are going to get exposed to it that easily. Although my wife does work at a coffee shop right now and interacts with a lot of people, my state just shut down all dine-in restaurants (so everywhere is limited to delivery/takeout only), so I don't expect she'll come into an extended enough contact with anyone potentially infected from a drive through window.

My immediate family, however, is a different story. My dad, older bro, and younger bro all work at my dad's appliance store/repair service, so they come into contact with tons of people every day. Though I'm not much worried for my dad himself or my younger bro, since they're generally healthy and would survive without issue, my older bro just had a baby a month ago so if he catches anything that could be quite rough. My mother is also not that healthy, she had breast cancer (which she beat a few years back now :)), is developing an early onset dementia, and has diabetes so she wouldn't have the greatest chance of surviving it if my dad happens to bring it home.

My grandmother as well, she's 95 (or 96, hard to keep track these days ) and while she's generally healthy (enough to live on her own, albeit with frequent dinners and visits from her 12 children), it would definitely be the end of her long life.

But all in all I'm not that "scared" or panicky or stressed or anything, my family has generally good hygiene and we're already pretty careful about spreading germs as is.

The best way to calm down is to turn off the news and go offline for a bit. It's amazing how much stress is being produced by the constant and sheer abundance of information available these days.

i'm too busy with work and giving support to hospitals with regards to our software because they now have very specific wishes due to the coronavirus to even have a reaction to anything
it's a very surreal situation

I'm working from home supporting the daily monitoring of the place (I work in local government). It's been a mental week. I'm glad the weekend is here, I need some time to absorb the last few days. Mentally, emotionally I'm pretty knackered,

I don't normally need medication to manage any sort of mental issue. Some would say I'm out there raw doggin reality but regardless. This crisis has really started weighing in on my mental state. So all of this to say I can't imagine what its like for those poor individuals who need meds to regulate their daily lives. My heart goes out to you. We are all in this together.

I understand about OCD issues.. For crisis... it doesn't effected me at all. I am normal as I was when I was kid. It will go away anyway. Its not end of world, you know. Poor people are one with anxiety and worrisome too much. Not good for them. Blame the tv news and just turn it off instead.

Sorry, not sorry. But the guy creates his own chaos and I don't believe most everything he has to say about his situations. He has a criminal record and its common for people with those to play the victim to everyone.
