Title explains it.

I am trying to run 2 games (Wii Music and Wii Party, both non-ISO.), and when I try and run it, the loader goes back to the Homebrew Channel with no descriptor as to why. This is a Wii bought back in 2006. I have used both a SanDisk Cruzer (Sorry, don't know what type!), and a SanDisk Micromate with a Sandisk Mircro SD to SD adapter, and a Lexar 4gb microsd card. I have no clue as to why. If needed, I am happy to post a System Check. Can someone help me figure this out?

Hello.:)

If you use USB Sticks/SD to USB Adapter Solutions and this Type with USBLoader GX the chance is very high that it is not working.:(

To give you better Support and Help please post a sysCheck of your Wii to see in which "Shape" it is.

This GBAtemp Link will help you to achive this:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Please attach the sysCheck.csv or the Content of it in your next Answer.

Thank you.:)

So it looks like IOS249 and IOS250 are victims of a "Trucha Bug". What is that?

EDIT: Wait, that's normal. Thats how we put the IOS on the system. I have no clue in Wii homebrew, as you can see.

So what is the issue?

Thank you for your sysCheck.:)

As you "suspect" it has to do with your cIOS249 + 250.

You have now a two Options:

- you can use @XFlak ´s ModMii for a simple and safe Way to Update your Wii.
Attached is the official GBAtemp Manual and Support Thread:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

- you can use the d2x cIOS Installer for the cIOS Installation (this needs Internet Connectivity on your Wii):
https://wii.guide/cios.html

If you have Questions or feel unsure, please feel free to ask.:)

Good Luck.:)

So, can you tell me the IOS setting for the IOS249/IOS250?

If you do it correct with the d2x cIOS Installer your cIOS 249 + 250 should looks like this:

IOS249[57] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0

Now to the USBLoader GX Settings.

These are my personal Settings and I do not say these are the "Best" or "Optimal" Settings:

P1360378.JPG P1360379.JPG P1360380.JPG P1360381.JPG

But the Important one for you are:

Loader´s IOS -> try 58 and test it,if you have Issues with Recognizing your USB Device or on Installing Games from Disc to HDD please change it to 249.
Game´s IOS -> should be 249 by Default.

Some Games uses other IOes to run (Zelda - Skyward Sword for Example).
This is Changed in the In Game Settings - Game Load:

P1360382.JPG P1360383.JPG P1360384.JPG

If you use the Configurable USBLoader Mod 70 r78.11 it shows upon every Game Start which IOS is used.So you can change it then in USBLoader GX for every Game which is not running on 249.:)

Thank you and
Good Luck.:)

Hello.:)

Thank you for your Reply.

After you have tried all points, unfortunately we are again on the Beginning:

If you use USB Sticks/SD to USB Adapter Solutions and this Type with USBLoader GX the chance is very high that it is not working.

Maybe it is a good Idea to try an HDD now.....:)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Yes, it recognizes that the device is there, and when I switched partition (I had to format NTFS), the games were shown. But the error still occured.

What you can try with your USB Stick Solution:

Please use the WiiBackup Manager to format it with WBFS Format.
Please Note, after that, the USB Stick is no longer recognized from Windows - it suggests to initialize and reformat it,please do not do that at this Time,
You can re-format it later with FAT32 again with the WiiBackup Manager.

After formatting it with WBFS format transfer your Games to the USB Stick - please use always the WiiBackup Manager for this !

If this is also not working, please try the same Procedure instead of WBFS format it to FAT32 please.

Also please use ONLY ONE Partition one it !!

Same for the HDD.Please try it first with ONE Partition.
Also check it is correct initialized as MBR Drive and NOT as GPT Drive please.
