After a tumultuous first reveal that led to weeks of disappointment, memes, and internet outcry, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie managed to revamp Sonic's design to look more like the character, which was a blessing to most peoples' eyes. Making sure Sonic actually looked Sonic-y, however, pushed the movie back from its original launch, out of 2019 and into 2020. Now, the time has finally come, and the film is finally available to see in theaters across the world. Have you seen it yet? Will you see it yet? Alright so we watched it this morning at the theater. My thoughts on it, is that it is one of the better video game adaptations that have been made. The actor who voiced sonic was pretty good. The acting is what you would expect, they ruined one of the better jokes they had by having it in the trailer.
My kids reaction to it was that they loved it. My daughter loved it and wants to see it again. My son doesnt have a very good attention span for movies. TV shows he will watch due to the short time span they have, movies not so much. However, he sat through the entire thing and laughed a lot. So I will say that I do believe they got the right formula for the kids. I will definitely suggest at least watching it. You dont have to buy the movie when it comes to dvd or blu ray, at least rent it. I actually hope it does well enough for a sequel. I will say they probably will recast robotnik in the sequel. Jim carrey doesnt really do sequels anymore so I guess they will probably recast that in the future. All in all 4 out 5 stars from me.

When I went to see Sonic today, I went with the lowest expectations I could think of, but it was actually quiet enjoyable. It was funny a bit and the effects were not too bad.
There were kids there laughing their life away, so I think it is definitely a great movies for kids and a "kwel" movie for adults and fans.

the sonic CGI was good though , loved the moments where he danced, and wasn’t so bad it merited walking out

I think Jim Carrey was relatively great too actually

Jim carrey surprised me as well. I think with it being the first movie, they will probably have a sequel inbound soon. I mean how do you do a live action sonic. It was either do this or what I hoped they would have done, which was go with the sonic adventure look.

I wonder why Jimmy Carrey ? Why dont they used someone else ? I have seen many famous celebrities being used in movies like this. I cannot care about the celebrities. I know they wants to use the famous celebrity for the profits and money. Whatever.

Anyway, I wont watch it in the movie theater. Never in the move theater because I dont liked the dark and costly which is ridiculous. I will wait until it is release for home use.

Quick question for you though. Is there a regal cinemas near you? If there are, on the weekends a movie at the first showing usually around 10am or 1030am they are only 6.50 each. Its a good way to see if something is going to be worth it or not.

Matter of fact, yes. However I dont go to movie theater. I dont liked to watch in the dark. And a movie theater is not my things. Thanks, thought.

I loved Maddie and "Donut Lord" and Maddie's sister was funny as hell. Got an "Oh no" joke. Loved the references. I left happy after I got over Eggman.

That's what I'm thinking. Since this is a origin style movie, that the next one will be better. Heres my idea on this. Sonic 2 will have tails in a bigger role like the game. Sonic 3 will introduce knuckles. Then we get the sonic adventure style after these 3.

If you liked Batman and Robin because Jim Carrey was a villain there, then go and watch this movie.

Honesty the script doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the games but the movie is okaish.
