TX announces testing phase for SX CORE and SX LITE mods

300 pre-production units are going out to testers that apply to Team-Xecuter with their modding skills!

Thanks for all the applications, as of today all pre-production samples have been assigned to qualified testers & reviewers!

SXLOGOS.png

People have been waiting for a while for news from Team-Xecuter, and today they hit us with double-whammy, announcing the name of their upcoming modchips, and at the same time putting out an request for 300 solid modders with skills to help fine-tine their pre-production units that will be going to those that have already applied.
We are looking for 200 to 300 testers who are willing to commit time to really test in depth the product and report back to us eventual bugs, issues, or way to improve it before mass production starts.

Please contact us if you have the skills and time for it. Obviously, you need to know how to open an console and make basic solder points – nothing really challenging here as far a the installation itself. But a bit more to bring us that feedback and find the hidden bugs the common mortal wouldn't.

Please no need to write if:
  • You don't have time to really test this in depth.
  • You don't have the required skills.
  • If you were in touch with us before and we know you just want free stuff, we know who you are, we manufacturers all know each other, don't bother trying.
  • You can't fix your console if there is a little issue. Again, experienced users. We are not going to send you a new console if you drop your soldering iron on the wrong place of your console.
We already have quite a few names from the past, we will confirm when you email us. But as this product is pretty advanced, we would welcome a little more help. All *NEW* application must come with references from known trusted scene members. If you don't, sorry, we will just ignore your request.

Again this is for ALL Switch. Regular unpatched Switch, Patched, Mariko and Switch Lite. But obviously we are not interested in people with regular unpatched Switch (grab a SX Pro FFS!)
Thanks for all the applications, as of today all pre-production samples have been assigned to qualified testers & reviewers!

So it seems, during the Chinese New Year break, TX was not sleeping, they been working hard, and both the SX CORE and SX LITE is getting ready for the mass public, but in the meantime get to work and apply to TX today showing them your skills and references and you could be one of the lucky first 300 users out there with full bragging rights to show off to the world they have a working modded 'Patched' or 'Mariko' or 'Lite' Switch Console! -- Don't forgot to also check out their recently launched Official TX Support Chat Server :)

I personally would rather they wait for the Switch Pro to be released in case there is some chance the exploit would still work.

100% this
dont get me wrong i would like better battery life from a Mariko unit and possibly to also grab a lite to hack but not if holding off a year or less meant i could have gotten hacked pro's i'll be super bummed by them blowing this load early

The supposed Pro version is just a speculation for now. It may be released in a half a year, a year, or two, or some entirely new console may be released instead, and there will be no any "pro" version at all. Chances are high it would be a wait for nothing.

I think it's unlikely it ill be an entirely new console so soon.

Next year will be two years since mariko, which was two years since launch.

It fits in their "no plans to release an update in 2020".

Honestly I'm happy that there's gonna be Switch Lite chips soon. Technology where I live is pretty expensive and I need to play ACNH somehow!

yes
but the lite was also speculation till it was announced its also bolstered by the fact the same people who were right about the lite also claimed a pro was coming.

its also common sense everyone else has done half step consoles but even next-gen consoles are the same architecture and maintaining compatibility.

so lets consider the facts that we do know:
  • Nintendo is famous for hardware revisions (various GB's, GBA's, DS, 3ds revisions etc.)
  • Nintendo is also famous for maintaining compatibility as well as augmenting/reusing old hardware. GBC could use gameboy games, as could the advance, a GameBoy slot on the DS pillar of consoles, various Gameboy players, link cable stuff etc.
  • Sony and Xbox are launching for the 2020 holiday
  • Nintendo in a financial call admitted to no Pro in 2020
considering next-gen for the other players is happening this year, they are all maintaining compatibility (basically same hardware just newer/more powerful)
why would Nintendo who's been doing that for years choose now to stop now that the industry as a whole is adopting it as standard?
yes they denied a 2020 Pro, but previously the denied the lite till they announced it.

so given on the timeframe, past evidence and what we know now I can only surmise the best course of action would be announcing a switch Pro around the launch of the Next-Gen in the fall to steal their thunder, then launch the hardware early 2021.

I don't care if its actually Switch Pro or a "Switch 2" that has backwards compatibility because in this day and age the only differentiator is marketing.

TLDR
I think the evidence is more strongly in the "it will happen" then the "Chances are high it would be a wait for nothing."

fact is if you can't wait that long then you can ebay/pawnshop your way to a hackable unit without this release and a premature release of this is likely to do more harm to the community then waiting a little (for everyone but the accountants/shareholders of TX)

Most of the "lite is coming" posts weren't claiming a pro. It was an upgrade of some kind for the OG and that's exactly what we got, Mariko x1 and slightly faster VRAM. Nintendo could have clocked those higher with the same power/thermal profiles but chose not to. The current spate of actual "Pro" rumors are much fewer.

no most "lite is coming" rumors were 2 pronged, claiming a pro was also coming as well as the lite/mini so we've only got half the prediction.

I don't care what you think people were talking about, my comment is valid and all you've done is repeatedly posted insults.
I don't remember using insults but if you thought you were insulted, I would like to apologize. After re-reading the posts I still confirm your response was totally besides the point tho, so you replied to a post, you mocked it, and yet you didn't care if you were talking about the same thing or not. That's pretty impertinent, but at least you said it, not me. Let's just leave it at that.

fwiw hoag (handheld only Switch) platform configs existed have existed since like firmware 2.0.0 and full support for the device was added in 8.0.0, 5 months before release.
That said, there is another device called Calcio that has very basic support in the boot sysmodule and uses Mariko soc configs, but it's platform config (which would be tid 0100000000000829) and everything else does not currently exist on production or debug firmware.

Oh no, what I originally posted was the same thing. I was actually agreeing with linuxares, the whole "let's steal from everyone, but if anyone steals from us then we'll cancel them" is crap. I don't care what you think anyone is talking about.

You lost when you said "So you are basicaly confirming that you don't get it." If you don't understand why, then you won't get why I don't believe your faux apology.

Still an exploit
Show us the glitch chips for Xbox one and post 5.05 PS4
Those are nonexploitable consoles
PS4 downgrade is existant in private, as a soldered modchip... But will the author release it one day? i don't know...

Xbox is still exploitable, altough mostly not needed... The xbox is running a special, teared down, of Windows locked with UWP.
Meaning that:
A - Games are already all extracted
B - Someone is working on a compatibility patch to allow for xbox games on Windows (although not required as M$ is bring Xbox Live with Xbox exclusives to PC)
C - You can already make custom homebrews in the UWP platform without downgrade, cfw, exploits... simply by default in the system.
D - Some exploits have been found in private to allow for an UWP sandbox escape. This might allow for CFW in the future, if someone is interested in that... which i doubt...

Neither of them are "nonexploitable". It's just that sony & microsoft will patch them pretty quickly and they are hard to do, so there is little motivation for anyone to do them right now just so people can play free games.

Not really... You’re physically modifying the hardware to glitch it into a state that you can run custom shit. Not exploiting a flaw in anything...

Isn't the flaw that it can be glitched? There are ways to harden a CPU against glitch attacks, designing them in is hard and they have a performance impact. Kinda like always checking your inputs in the OS to avoid exploits. The CPU manufacturers haven't been particularly interested either, because most of their customers don't care about glitching. They just want the CPU to run as fast as possible.

Plus the president already said that there wont be any new revision this year. Maybe we get an announcement but not the actual console till maybe xmas 2021

Guys didn't you hear Captain trips is here ,China is canceled
There's not going to be any "mod chip"
There's not going to be any "next gen"

750 million on lockdown
Corpses are piling up everywhere
I'm able to count over the official CCP numbers of dead
In just a few webm's alone and I have viewed hundreds of them
I can count at least 50 corpses in this video alone and it is under a minute long

Some quick math for you:
Let's assume that your 750 million on lockdown number is true (i don't know if it is, and I don't care, it's not relevant ). Let's say that the corona virus is really fucking contagious, so much so that 50% of those in quarantine have it (the spanish flu, btw, had an infection rate around the 30-40%). That's (750*10^6)*0.5=375*10^6. So let's say 375 million people are infected. Now let's use the mortality rate of SARS (which was quite high at 9% ). That's 375*10^6*0.09=33.75*10^6 million dead. US population is 327.2 million. so 33.75 would be 33.75/327.2=0.0906. 9% of the US population. In the context of China, it's 33.75/1386=0.0243. 2.4% of the population of China. It's not nothing, but it's not that bad either... Chill the fuck out dude. The world is not gonna collapse. The funny thing is that there are more confirmed CURED from the virus than there are confirmed deaths. Around 1800 dead and 11000 recovered. Of course you are gonna say that the "officials numbers are bullshit" but I think I've made a decent case on why even a worst case scenario (infection rate higher than the spanish flu and a death ratio same as SARS ) it's actually looking not too bad. People are being cautious and that's fucking good. Finding a consistent cure for these kind of viruses is hard, MERS still doesn't have a widely accepted treatment. But there is treatment. So the best thing one can do is contain it in order to keep it from getting way worse, which is good. Doesn't mean that China is going to collapse. Ebola was in some ways worse and we kind of stopped caring about it so...

Now let's use the mortality rate of SARS (which was quite high at 9% ).

Originally the mortality rate was thought to be 2%, but it's thought that the number of infections is underestimated which would make that too high.

From 2017
According to new estimates published today, between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide die from seasonal influenza-related respiratory illnesses each year, higher than a previous estimate of 250,000 to 500,000 and based on a robust, multinational survey.

The difference with this flu seems to be the infection rate, rather than the mortality rate. So even if every single person gets infected, you might still only be looking at a 1% drop in population. For china that would be 13 million people, which is still a lot in terms of numbers but they would be able to survive that. As most areas are on lock down, it won't go anywhere near that anyway.

Their biggest problem is the economic effects of quarantine. Not a few dead bodies. But anti free health care zealots are going to make up shit over this.

Yeah, exactly. 13 million is a lot but in context it's basically fine. A lot of production has to slow down because of it being located in China so of course China is gonna take a hit but like... It's China. Give them 9 months and it's probably be back to normal.

I just get annoyed by weatMod's constant fearmongering.
For the sake of argument, google says that the world's population is 8 billion. Let's say that every other person gets the virus. 8*0.5=4 billion. 4000 million. Let's say 10% of them die. 4000*0.1=400 million. That's basically the population of the USA gone. It's not nothing mind you, but in the context of the original 8 billion... it's 400/8000, that's 1/20 of the world population... That's 5%. It's like going back to 2011 ( Current world population is apparently 7794 million. In 2011 it was 7041 so I'm allowing for an actually quite wide margin).
It's going to be fine, your electronics and plastic trinkets are gonna take maybe a month longer to be produced because of slow downs, but it's going be fine.

Official figures put the mortality rate at 2.1% although we have no idea how many people just put up with the symptoms and kept to themselves.

The transmission rate is dropping according to official figures.

I doubt it's going to be the no.1 killer for 2020
