Homebrew So I bought a used n3DS that's eshop banned. Error 005-5964. Is there anyway to bypass this?

I researched it myself but Google search barely give me results concerning this error code. From what I'm seeing, there's like mixed results pre 2018 posts saying it can't be unbanned and a few other guys after 2018 posts saying they followed the decrypt9 method or whatever to unban it. I'm just wondering what to do because none of those guys gave info on how to unban it.

It's just going to be a cat and mouse game using the public seed so cut your losses and just pirate everything

I'd rather try to unban it. I want to be able to update games without finding update files on PC and access eShop for Pokemon Bank.

Here has a regaining eshop access with godmode9. I followed this guide when I lost access to the eshop and couldnt use pokebank. It allowed me to make a new nnid and also access to be able to use pokebank.

Thanks but I commented on that post saying I'm stuck at the part where I had to rename the 000000 file. It says something about failed renaming path. Seems like the posters above are having the same problem too

That person you are referring to had a completely different ban code.

Ah. I just have trouble renaming the file. I even tried backing it up, renaming it manually on my PC and put it back in my 3DS and it just automatically sets it back to 000000

It probably might not help but have you tried formatting the 3ds? I doubt it'll let you do it through the settings because of having to connect to the servers so theres a homebrew app called tiny format could be used to format it. Like I said it might not help but might be worth trying.

Using tiny formats the whole 3ds basically deleting everything currently on it like saves and games but nothing on a deeper level is deleted like for example the friend code seed that is used for online play and the gm9 process tries to remove the nnid connected without formatting basically. But now that I think of it formatting probably wouldnt help in this case since it seems like it's a hardware ban.
