Okay, sorry for the funny title, but try to empathize with me. I bought a switch at launch, and after online stopped being free, I basically stopped playing it. The last thing I really did was hack it in September of 2018, to see what homebrew was like now that I didn't care about going online. Fast-forward to 2020, and I haven't used my switch pretty much at all. Let's just say, I don't have the free time that I used to have, and there are better things for me to be doing than playing games, and so I'm working on trimming down my collection, and that includes my Switch. My problem is, I don't feel comfortable selling it unless I know exactly what I have. I don't want to set somebody up with a bad system just from my making a mistake somewhere.

Here is what I remember:

-I hacked it using a guide that appears to no longer exist (I went to same place that I found it, and the same location now has an "updated" guide
-my switch, when it is completely powered down, does not turn on to normal boot, but instead enters "RCM Mode"
-I use a software called TegraRcmGUI to boot my switch, which requires me to plug my switch into it, and inject a payload
-the payload is a file called "Hekate_ctcaer_4.6.bin".
-When I inject the payload, I get to a screen that lets me either 1) launch stock firmware, or 2) launch CFW
-When I boot into CFW, everything looks normal, except that I can launch homebrew screen by launching the Pictures application
-I installed some homebrew from the hombre channel, but I never did much more with it
-I think my switch was on 5.x (it was more than 5.0 but less than 6.0) when I hacked it, and I never updated it in stock or in CFW
-for some reason, I don't see the firmware version listed on the system menu
-I think I have been online once, only to access the eShop, and only to download a game I had bought via Nintendo's website (on PC) and to download the game's free DLC (game was Ultimate Chicken Horse)

I hope this is enough information, if you need any other info then let me know. Basically, what I'm looking for is:

1) What all can you reason I did with my Switch? Assume a light touch as I don't remember doing anything with the system after it was hacked beyond playing Smash Ultimate (offline).
2) If necessary, can I undo whatever I did?
3) Anything changed in hacking since I did all this that is of note?

Sorry if this is asking a lot, I hope you can bear with me and help me out with this lost knowledge.

1) Well, you hacked it.
2) If you have created a clean NAND backup before hacking, you could restore it. But since you have been online once, Nintendo could detect that you have restored a backup. Therefore, it's not recommended.
3) Yes, you can hack the latest firmware (9.1.0) and enjoy latest games. In addition, most people use EmuMMC now for CFW because then they can keep their original NAND (eMMC) clean.

So back then, sysnand modding was more common, where now, it's all about emunand? Funny, I remember 3DS hacking going in the opposite direction.

Is there a point now to switching to emuNAND if sysNAND is already "touched" and could get banned? Should I try booting into stock and going online to see if it gets banned? Or just go for emuNAND now and treat that one as the "hack zone" and try to go as stock as possible on the existing sysNAND?

that would be because of auto rcm and you can turn it off in hekate's tools>autoRCM and then disable it

Thank you. I think I forgot that I set that, it looks like that is recommended (or was, maybe it's not now) that if you have hacks, you use that setting to make sure you never boot into stock accidentally.

Create emuNAND and then only do hacked stuff in emuNAND. Depending on what you did, you probably haven't been flagged for a ban yet. I created emuNAND after hacking a bit in sysNAND and have never been band now that I go online with sysNAND. I play legit carts online in sysNAND just fine and keep emuNAND offline using it to play backups.

Kind of. It really comes into play whenever you update your firmware via ChoiDujourNX. Using ChoiDujourNX to update will prevent you from burning fuses, which will permit you to downgrade in the future. If you ever boot normally without injecting a payload, you will permanently burn your fuses and be unable to downgrade. Using autoRCM makes it so that doesn't accidentally happen. Updating using the official method will remove your autoRCM and thus burn your fuses, so don't update using the official method unless you don't care about burning fuses.

My one question remaining is, do I have to do anything differently in the stock to emuMMC path if I have a hacked sysnand instead of a stock unit?
