Since I’ve installed SX OS on my Switch I never need the online features of the console. I’ve simply putted the console in Stealth Mode and enjoyed my library of games. Now that I’m playing Pokémon Sword I will be happy to try some competitive multiplayer features of the game, but I have to ask some questions.
1. I’ve read about emuNAND option that can duplicate the system NAND to have one partition with SX OS and one without. Is this the best thing to do for my purpose? Do you have any decent guide to create emuNAND on SX OS?
2. What are the limitations of emuNAND? It’s possibile to play .nsp or .xci games on this partition? There is any risk to be banned if you play online?
3. I can’t remember if my console was banned when I was installing SX OS (because that can happen, right?). With emuNAND it is possible to un-ban the console if there is a problem with it?
4. Any other advice for this kind of request (playing online Pokémon Sword on modded Switch)?

Thanks :)

This is based on my experience so I might be wrong and if I am I welcome corrections. It mostly depends on what you've done, you say you have SX OS and that you've played games, have they been as XCI's (with legit certificate) or NSP's? if NSP's or XCI's without certs I hear you have a higher chance of ban pending than if without, I have also heard of people using SX OS and going online with personal Backed up Carts not being banned at all to this day but no one but Nintendo know for sure.
Now for your questions
1. Yes some people use this, they make a clean copy of SysNAND (without installing games, using homebrew, theme's etc) as a EmuNAND, then delete WiFi settings/stealth mode EmuNAND. then do all shady (Not Nintendo approved) stuff on EmuNAND and keep the SysNAND clean and updated for online fun
2. If used the way described above there are no re limitations regarding EmuNAND that SysNAND doesn't have except needing to be in CFW to boot, this means if a new firmware update is release and you/dog walker/little brother/long lost relative who died on the titanic *accidentally* update the EmuNAND then you have to wait for a update to play again, it's also a little harder to backup easily I think but other than that you can install NSP's you can play XCI's. the only difference is on the SD card I believe it store all the console data in "Emutendo" rather than "Nintendo for EmuNAND
3. NO and don't believe anyone who says other wise, as I understand it it's not the console that is banned but the console Unique Cert that's blacklisted from the network, and it's "burnt" into the console at the factory. Can't be replaced (can be stolen thought so another reason to stay offline), the SysNAND and EmuNAND as copies of each other share the same cert as they are the "same console".
4. If you have played any NSP's, or used any sketchy homebrew I'd advise against going online EmuNAND/SysNAND at all as it's still unknown what Nintendo can and do check for, if you have a clean backup from before you started messing around I would create a EmuNAND and then restore the clean backup to SysNAND as it might be your best option of avoiding a Nintendo ban. Also one other thing as of the latest version out (Switch 9.1.0 SX OS 2.9.3 Beta( there is a bug in SX OS Cart emulation that crashes the console with any XCI's that "sniff" the web without being offline/stealth mode. For example at Minecraft main menu it tries to connect to Microsoft (i believe to check skins) the console will lock up, also same with Diablo, in other to avoid this you must use a physical cart or be offline

You can't play xci's or nsp online with any scenario and avoid a ban. You can create a emunand that is clean and the play legit games online with that emunand. This has been confirmed.

That depends on a lot of factors:

1. Did you take a backup of your sysnand before doing any hacking?
2. Has this switch EVER been online? If so on what firmware was it online and was it clean?
3. Is your backup the same firmware as you have now?

Exposing MY case:
1. Yes, clean backup
2. Yes, always connected and clean (deleted wifi connections and enabled plane mode before creating emu MMC)
3. Also yes, backup and sys fw are 9.2

With these criteria, would I be able to play online in emuMMC? Knowing I have INCOGNITO activated. And what about original cartridges/digital purchases?

I am also interested to the answers to these questions

Short answer: No, because incognito gives you an empty prodinfo (a serial that ninty uses to recognize your Switch)
So you'll not be able to play anything online passings by Nintendo servers.
But you can play locally or lan

If you have been using SX OS on sysNAND there is no way to go back to a 100% clean NAND that is safe to use online. You can wipe logs but that in itself is suspicious due to the servers having records of previous logs causing a mismatch and it would not be normal for the logs to suddenly be wiped.

The whole point of Incognito is to prevent you from playing online because it simulates a ban. If you meant to say play online without Incognito, then the answer is yes.
