I've still got my case from a decade plus ago, and...well, the back's different.
But then I realised that might be because my box is Australian, so the formatting on the black bottom half on my box could very well be different to the formatting on an American or European box.

Can't tell from the box.

How can you tell then?

I'd be wary, if you ask for pictures of the game and they specifically avoid showing you the cartridge...
True, yeah; the cartridge should have a serial code on the front (i.e. my Platinum cart - which I bought from a physical store - has NTR-CPUE-AUS), and, if it hasn't worn off over time, another code written in monospace black on the back (my cart has CPUEN1J11).
There should also be something written on the green part of the chip, above the 'teeth' contacts (DI T-3 Y10-01, looks like, on mine).

Also, y'know, accurate artwork and stuff.

To be fair, it appears to be sealed, and if they genuinely still had a sealed copy from back in the days, they probably wouldn't want to break the seal just to show pictures of the cart. But that being said, it's not very difficult to re-seal used games, or even bootlegs, and attempt to pass them off as brand-new.

For games like these, I wouldn't really bother going for brand new. Price is prohibitively expensive when you can just get a used copy in more than decent condition for a much better price. Speaking of which, if the seller is selling it for relatively cheap, I'd stay away, as this means it's most likely fake (nobody would sell a genuine brand-new sealed copy for a low price.)

These are some insane prices, even by middle east standards.

Anyway boxes don't tell us much, though I have yet to see someone fire up the shiny colours printer (mind you 240USD, or that plus 4 or 5 others to bring it to a grand, would be about what it takes for me to pay attention there).

Pokemon. Red case so OK start. Image too grainy for me to make out the stamped numbers on the label. Can't see the PCB. Colours on the label look OK but again the image is not great, and for 130 USD you would get my best printer effort rather than print on a random label.

If there are fakes then they are some of the best I have ever seen.

It is however an awful lot of money for pokemon when flash carts exist.

I don't know if pokepatch ever made it to cheat form but there were various GBA flash carts you could dupe DS flash carts into speaking to.

Even if not if you only want to transfer some over you can dump saves, use emulators and flash saves back.

I know about the patches for ez flash you must patch the gba game and the ds game as well which maybe make the patched gen 5 unable to connect to gen 5.

dstwo can play gba games and it suppose to able to do pokemon gba to ds connection but I never able to.

original games are better of course hehe but there battery die.

Most of the original ds games I bought above I played them on flash cart so that I can use cheats like exp x3 and 100% catch rate hehe and then transfer the save file from flash to original via 3ds app called checkpoint.
