Yeah. I totally agreed. Sick and tired of ports unless people don't have the games for their system then that's ok. I already have PS4 and ported to Nintendo Switch is hassle and lazy. I don't mind, thought because some games ported to Switch jailbreak is great due that PS4 higher FW isn't jailbreak yet. I can use this port games for Switch jailbreak. Just depends.

I hate how they just ported Mario Kart 8 (and Pokken Tournament, for that matter) to Switch and called it "Deluxe", instead of working on a brand-new release (Mario Kart 9/Pokken Tournament 2).
I had only recently gotten MK8 and Pokken for Wii U shortly before I heard Nintendo was going to release superior ports on a console I hadn't gotten yet, so I felt a bit ripped off; a bit cheated. I still haven't bought either Switch port, come to think of it.

I appreciate the Switch re-release of Mario Kart 8. I never bothered with the WiiU. A new entry would be neat though.

Guess they couldn´t resist the chance to earn a quick buck with their port. The Switch has a much bigger userbase after all.

Not everyone really looks at Metacritic scores, Dan, and the general vibe I've gotten suggests that people just see it as "yet another NSMB" game - in other words, not that popular, despite being a solidly-made game (hence the high scores).

The only notable thing about NSMBU Switch is that "Peachette" thing, which both became a meme and gave birth to other -ette fan-characters (e.g. Bowsette, King Booette), despite being a completely unnecessary replacement to the GamePad platforms.

Hav you even pld the game or just as its a 2d mario game its gonna be same old - of course its gonna be similar to the older 2d Mario games because yeh you kno it's 2d - but it still has different ideas and level design which in a 2d platformer obviously is becoming harder as thers thousands of these type of games-so if can show me wher the majority say it is disliked or did you just ask 2 people lol i think yr just having a grudge against nintendo due to yr mario kart thingy

I agree with you, most of the time the games I like have the lowest metacritic scores and the games that score the highest, I tend to hate. Funny thing tho is that most games I like that score badly tend to become cult classics in the gaming scene and after many years are considered pure golden gems by the gaming community who first hated it. Same with Assasins creed, everybody loves the newer games more than the older games while I like the first games a ton more while hating all the newer ones. They're just another farcry clone with WOW 2004 rpg mechanics ''kill 10 of those, get 10 of those, take down 10 towers or whatever to claim that piece of the map, kill a percentage to get the area boss out''. Nintendo has jumped on that bandwagon 2 and is just rehashing the same formula over and over again and people can't seem to get enough out of it. We haven't seen much new exclusive games with fresh exiting new formula's of gameplay by Nintendo since well the Gamecube and everything before that. You had quite a few during the Wii era but not in the same amount and it mostly stopped after the Wii. Switch games are mostly rehashes of older titles with a sequel or prequel sticker slapped to it. This is not meant as an attack towards people who like the new Nintendo style of doing things or Nintendo itself but just something i have noticed and totally agree with regarding the mario kart or mario bros sidescrolling games. The Switch has been out now for almost 3 years in March and new fresh games by Nintendo itself have been scarce and the ones that did came out weren't that different from the versions before like Smash, Splatoon and so on. The biggest criticism Nintendo got for the Wii U was no new games whatsoever from them and despite having a vast library on the Switch it seems they still haven't listened to that critisism at all whatsoever because if 3th party devs didn't release game on the switch. We would be looking at a wasteland with a game here and there like it was on the Wii U

They did so in the past tho with mario kart on the snes to the n64 and double dash on the gamecube being entirely new and different and after that with mario kart 7,8. Also most of the 2D mario games of the past didn't feel alike at all. Back then Nintendo didn't make those games with a single formula in mind hence why they all feel so different from each other. Mario bros 1,2,3 and the lost levels or super mario bros, yoshi's story, super mario land etc. They don't feel alike at all when playing through them while all newer titles do. That's my opinion atleast. Oh and i forgot paper mario ofcourse wich was also an entirely new idea from them back in the old golden era

I will keep my eyes on this one. if it didn't meet 3rd party for brand new AAA games then I am done with Nintendo! And wait for next emulator then, lol!

Anyway, I will order PS5 since I loved third party of AAA games. Sony knows what they are doing and Nintendo is.. BLEH... again, I will keep my eyes on this one. Nintendo Switch is my last console if Nintendo didn't meet third party supporting for BRAND NEW AAA games.

Thing is , The switch was already behind the current technology when it came out , so was the Wii U .. So a 4 year lifespan is already pushing it and they should of upgraded their hardware long ago. Just look at how bad the framerate is on most releases..

Yeah, I know what you mean but I don't buy Nintendo just for Mario (Action and Adventure) and Zelda (RPG) only. It would waste my money. Don't get me wrong. I am long time fan of Nintendo. That's why NES and SNES was the best systems of all time.. 1,2, and 3rd party fully supporting.

So, I would play next brand new system through emulator instead just to playing Mario and Zelda if they don't have 3rd support. >:-)
