Okay I have spend hours trying to figure out how I can get back my pokemon save back up, I used to use powersaves back in the day and have an old backup of my stolen pokemon game, I have a new cart and have gone through the process of hacking my 3DS, I have the backup save and everything, I just need to know how to decrypt or convert the save data so I can use my hacked 3DS to insert the save data into the game, if anything if someone could at least tell me of anyway to access my pokemon at all I would be forever greatful, I have pokemon on there from when I first started playing like 14 years ago.

again Thank You to anyone who can take the time to help.

(1) You have to get another Pokemon Moon cartridge to retrieve the save the yourself.

-or-

(2) Someone else happens to have both the PowerSaves device and Pokemon Moon cart would require your backed up save file. After restoring the save data to their cart, that person would then have to dump a decrypted version of the save in Checkpoint/JKSM.

There's no other way to recovery the save.

See posts #3 and #5 below.

Fairly certain this is not possible. Save data for games built for 2.0.0 fw sdk or higher (or something like that) are encrypted on a per-cartridge basis.

https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Savegames#Gamecard_savegame_Encryption

Either way, for Pokémon it has never been possible to restore a powersaves backup to a different cart, unless maybe you were able to decrypt it and re-encrypt it for the new cart, but that would require having access to the original cart, so that's not an option.

I Have another Moon cartridge, I just need to know how to decrypt the data is all, I have pokemon editors and whatever, I just want my pokemon, even if its just a pkhex insert to anothet game.

I am using a hacked 3ds with homebrew capability so I can do any possible way to restore my pokemon collection, even if its just a copy of the pokemon files through pkhex or whatever.

Edited my previous post for facts correction.

What @Ammako pointed out about the saves being backed up from the PowerSave and that they can't be restored on another cart of the same game is unfortunately true. :(
Edit - The second bulletin point #2 might be possible if you still have the original PowerSave that made that save backup. No idea if the any Pokemon Moon cart (of the same region and revision) will do.

I am willing to if possible use a program or something to just read the pokemon out of the file or at least make it readable by pkhex, then I can at least remake them.

Edit: I have seen online its currently impossible to re-encrypt the data and put it on another cartridge, I am fine with losing the save game, I just want my pokemon any possible way.

If I can at least make the file readable by a program that's all I need.
