You can use any amount of gb for fat32. You just need to use a program like guiformat or minitool to format it that way.
Then you google kosmos nx and download the latest one. Along with the sig patches. Copy bothe extracted files to the SDCard.
Then you use a jig or paper clip or whatever and go into rcm mode.
Then boot is late from the pc or phone and go into tools and turn on autorcm.
Now make an emmunand, boot into cfw, whatever you want to do.

That's a good "guide" but you missed A LOT of important steps!

I dont have the energy to get into details. Its only meant as a very rough guide. Friend committed suicide yesterday, fiancee left me today. Sue me.

P.S. I dont mean to seem snappy. Its just been a really hard two days for me. I'm trying to deal with the dpression from all this.

That is why we link to the fleshed out tutorials on this forum.

I hope TX has something to release soon. Otherwise people will forget about the modchip and their deposit for "priority access" from all those suppliers...
Is there video proof by now where you can see what they used to boot the Switch? Like naked PCB with the modchip and boothing?

What do I need to do with the aluminum foil method? What do I do with the aluminum foil?

Watch from 1:50

I used this method and it worked immediately on the first try and every other time I needed to enter RCM. Didn't bother using tape either.

How is carrying around a hard drive beneficial in real world applications like for example, playing your Switch on a bus or train on your way to an appointment? Seems kinda tedious and annoying for the quick go. Dont get me wrong, it has its uses but for the average on the go user it's just not practical.

I use all manner of USB devices. I don't typically carry around a hard drive. I do have a SD reader I used to be a second SD card, a few flash drives, and a hard drive enclosure that contains an SSD. Works great. While docked use my 5 terabytes. Nice try. Sx wins

They have been promising a possible cold boot 3.0.2 and lower. I'm keeping my fuses low for it but I will still believe it when I see it.

Waiting for the DragonPAK and. Dragon MMC

I was under the impression it was only for hard drives honestly. Never thought about usb drives or anything of the sort.

Another Atmo user with a partial understanding of the facts... All too common. Maybe if the Temp just focused on sharing accurate and complete information instead of spreading bias SJW BS politics and over all lameness, things like this wouldn't happen! It's like Atmo users read enough about SXOS to try to convince themselves that they aren't missing anything by not trying SXOS.

Well.. you are wrong again!

If you haven't used SXOS then you should just ignore the SX conversations. I myself am running Atmo, SXOS, Lakka and Android... Might set up an SD for Ubuntu as well again... especially once DragonMMC happens. I have experience in all the CFWs and I can honestly say that except for KIPs, Atmosphere is lacking.. SX is pretty much my daily driver. XCI/USB is king.

Just to clarify, the USB can be used for A TON of stuff. Most USB devices work. And as far as SXOS goes you can load XCI games off of anything. A SD Card reader with an SD works! HDD, SATA adapter, Flashdrves etc etc.. Real easy to carry around an extra flash drive or SD. Plus hot swap works as long as you are not reading from the device! I recently picked up a battery pack, a Hori USB hub and a USB to SATA adapter I use with a 1TB SSD and 2 fight sticks on the go... I have a TB of XCI games and a proper OTG SFII Setup with Battery pack charging the unit! I have a 512GB mSD internal with 2 EmuNAND so the the kids have a separate setup. And the 1TB of XCI work in any EmuNAND preventing me to have to install the same game twice on 2 EmuNANDs if I want a separate one for the kids!

XCIs are awesome. USB is even better, and the combo is well worth $30. Only NSP I use is the DLC and Updates!

And as far as the actual topic goes....

The only ways to boot CFW without a Jig are
  • AutoRCM (need Jig once) <--- My current method, works great. I typically inject Argon Multi-Boot payload with my Dragon Injector!
  • Possible future Cold-boot for 3.0.2 or lower, (Someday... What's your fuse count?)
  • Trinket Mod Chip
  • The Fake News exploit( forgot the name) IIRC it only works on fw 4.0.1 (I think)
  • SOME FUTURE METHOD

Fake News works on all firmwares :P
It just make a modified news entry in the news page thing that launches the web applet and takes you to a website of your choice (usually pegaswitch). Any exploits you run from there would likely be firmware specific though.

Well PegaSwitch is limited to 3.0 and under IIRC..... I thought there was something else for 4.0.1 and under. Oh well. I think Auto RCM is great. Sleep mode works great and I have a Dragon Injector with a jig and payload sender in my cart slot ;)

Pegaswitch itself works upto either 6.x or 7.x (don’t remember which) 6.0.1 currently, you can’t do much without additional exploits though.
4.1.0 and below currently have a public Deja Vu implementation.

Indeed :P

this is going to devolve into shit isn't it =w=

Only if it brings it's friends to bullshit yet another informational thread in to uselessness.

I was under the impression that the MAIN bug for Pegaswitch got patched in 3.0.1.. Maybe I missed something there. I really do hope the whole cold boot somes to fruition. Otherwise I have spent way too much time protecting fuses ;)

Not mad, just disappointed with how easy it is for someone with very little knowledge to poison the information pool here. You should read more and type less. With a little work and time someday you too might become a valuable member of the community.
How exactly does me not knowing what usb devices work on the usbHDD feature invalidate the rest of my understanding exactly?

Not everyone knows everything about everything. This is the whole point of a community. To devise information together. I'm sorry you feel so much higher and mightier than most to remember that. I'll forgive you tho.

But Seriously, the only thing i didnt realize was that usb storage of any type could be used. I was always under the impression that only HDDs could be used.

  1. , XCI files have no advantage over NSP files.

Bad Lassy. You have that backwards.XCI can be loaded off of a USB drive! Plus I can take said USB drive to ANY SWITCH with SXOS and load the same XCI without copying it twice. Also XCI has a smaller chance,if any, of being flagged! Plus I can install the damn thing just like a NSP!

Tell me.. What advantage does NSP have?

Correction good sir.

But seriously, I can give two shits what anyone uses. I prefer atmos and recommend it because today it, in general, is a better solution for CFW. At the end of the day, I'll still be enjoying my Switch regardless of what anyone uses. But...

When you have people like the guy we have been quoting, giving bad info and potentially giving info that may result in some kid getting banned or even a broken Switch so he can just get flamez in at atmos... Not cool.

Atmo is not superior, just free. And what guy you've been quoting? The other Atmo-ron? All my posts are fact.

You not knowing something and arguing it as fact is the problem on GBATemp. You just regurgitate the same lies everyone tells to promote Atmosphere. Just like Luma before it. Atmosphere is fine. But SXOS is better. In a truly useful way. For $30 you get USB support and XCI support. Win win, If you don't know, now you know... Stop typing and start reading. Come back when you know what you are talking about. That's valid.

You missed the point where if someone doesnt use those features or want those features then atmosphere is more than sufficient.

Also, as you quoted, I can care less what anyone uses. I use what works best for me. I know what atmosphere can do and how it works. I can talk about it cuz i know what atmosphere itself does. So when questions are asked about the other system, and you get attacked for asking, that goes against what you're saying yourself. It was a valid question. Period.

But twisting what an atmo user says seems to be a true sx user trait.:teach:

You make statements, based on assumptions and bullshit. You deliberately clogged up a thread as soon as SX was mentioned. You mislead and misinform the masses. Please just go away. No more click-bait. Any future thread with SX in mind doesn't need you. And, for the record, atmo-rons and gate-haters are the ones twisting facts.

"XCI has no advantage""Atmosphere can do everything SXOS can."

Bullshit.

Look around. I know it's difficult with your limited knowledge but please don't make it up as you go. Go read something,

Seems Illiteracy might just be a true Atmo user's trait.

False. Carts have data in them so Nintendo can tell if it's a pirated copy or not, if it's pirated you still have a pretty good chance of getting banned (people literally found this out the hard way back when SX 1.0 launched...).

Of course you can install them like NSPs, when you click install it converts the XCI into an NSP. I'm really not sure what you expected.

Even TX thinks it's superior, they actually steal Atmo's code. That's not an urban legend or anything either, one beta release even used the atmosphere folder because they forgot to change it in SX's code. Also, with Atmosphere's license, SX OS has to be open source, but its source code isn't available anywhere... (also, SX hardcodes some keys, which makes it literally illegal to own.)

More out of context quoting. Lets see..

Carts have CERTS. You can take a cert from a cart you own legit and inject it in to all your XCI files. NSP has no ability to disguise it's origin. Win XCI!

I only mentioned installing of XCI like a NSP because it's all you can do with a NSP and I didn't want a bunch of morons trying to bash XCI by saying it has to be mounted. It does not. XCI can function identically to NSP and more was the point. Did you read the post?

And TX doesn't think Atmo is superior. SXOS is a cleaner implementation of all the code they stole anyway. I know they stole code. So do all of you. Pirates complaining about stolen code. Who cares? Fuck Atmos license. You violated Ninty's EULA. And your whole collection is illegal to own.
