If you were worried that March 2020 might be a little too packed for game releases, then you can take one completely off the table. Square Enix has delayed the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake. Fortunately, this delay is a rather small one, pushing back the release date from March 3, 2020, to April 10, 2020. The reasoning behind the delay is so that the developers can "ensure [they] deliver a game that is in-line with their vision". According to the team, this slight delay will give the game an extra bit of polish, which is important, considering how highly-anticipated the remake is.

“We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

My only complaint is that it's too damn close to cyberpunks release date.

Exactly they ruined my schedule, it was supposed to be FFVII for march, cyberpunk for April until the last of us at the end of may.
Now I will have boring Jan, Feb, March and at the 10th of April I will have to rush in to finish FFVII before cyberpunk.

And if you're talking about the original... then its on pretty much everybody's top 10 list of greatest games ever.
Of course like everything else in life ... even when something is GREAT and that sentiment is express by the majority and the masses, a small insignificant number of people will hate/dislike it because thats how it is. The good thing in this case, is that the number of people who don't like the original source are so small, they don't matter, nor ever will.

Some people are waiting this game for over decade! Officially FF7R was teased so many times, but nothing regarded release date was ever announced, this kind of waiting is so painful...... Now finally we see the end of this endless tunnel and yet it got delayed again!

Them developing it for the PS4 when the 5 is right around the corner (metaphorically) just baffles me.

Besides, I'll probably be too busy with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Persona 5 Royal to really give a about Final Fantasy VII: No Turn-Based Battle Edition.
...I much preferred FFXII: The Zodiac Age's battle system to FFXV's, and what FFVII's new one seems to be; XII was indeed turn-based, and not as much action-based. Plus you could set up your own AI loops if you wanted, which was fantastic. Either reuse XII's battle system, or go back to actual foes-on-one-side-heroes-on-the-other turn-based battles, please.

Facts are the release date isn't being pushed back to "polish" the game. Release date is being pushed back because Final Fantasy 7 remake is a PS5 launch title.

Except PS5 isn't releasing in April, lol. November at the earliest. Plus it should run nearly every PS4 game with improved performance without needing a native PS5 copy, but Sony might make me eat my words.

Hopefully this won't delay the inevitable PC release, since that is already going to come out much later than the PS4 version. That's all I care about. Though a month isn't a lot, who knows if it will end up being delayed even more.

Not really, XV was re developed for 10 years and part of that reason was b/c they wanted it on the PS4 instead of PS3.
If it were Versus XIII then I'd agree with you there, but its not the same game they introduced us. It ended up bad b/c they rushed the game knowing it was incomplete

So let's see, as far as FF7 delays we got an announcement of remake in the early 2000's for PS2. All we heard from then on were tumbleweeds. Then it was supposed to be for the PS3. Nope, fat chance. Now it's for the PS4. Already delayed several times.

Well that's good, I think my girlfriend got me the Deluxe Edition for Christmas and she hasn't gotten a single email about it and I can't find any answer about pre-existing preorders anywhere
