Edit: I finally got the whitelisting to work. I used DolcePolce after someone recommend that to me and, at first, it still didn't work. But then I copied the plug in line in config to the config backup in ur0 as well as putting it in tai's ux0 folder and pasting that link in its config backup. I'm not sure if that's how I was supposed to install it but it doesn't say to do that anywhere on the github so idk.

can't get vitadb to download anything
i don't remember the error code for this one
using the whitelisting apps stop my vita tv from playing anything
when i try to play a game it gives me this error code np-6174-8
i'm on 6.37

i did request to delete this post to find help elsewhere so idk how long this is staying up

After getting everything(?) set up I tried out the game xeodrifter and it played fine. I went to go get an app that whitelist the blacklisted vita games and now none of the vita games play on my vita tv. I've tried antiblacklist first and installed both versions and got the error code np-6174-8. I don't know if I'm missing something or if I downloaded something wrong.

The other thing I'm having trouble with is getting vita homebrew browser to download anything. I get an error with that too, but currently I don't remember what that error code was.
I did that whitelist hack along time ago and it works games work so don't know what to tell ya

you can manually add in the whitelists to ur0 and vs0. vs0 is permanent. or, you could use antiblack list (an app). the one thing about that is you can't use game updates or they won't show up iirc when you open a game.

if it's the homebrew browser, you might also try deleting the cache (think it's in the data folder) and any patches (patch folder) and start fresh. I've encountered my fair share of bugs with that app including one where it crashes if you scroll down too fast.

I had factory restored my vita tv to remove it and now have the hack back installed but without the whitelist. Before restoring that antiblack list app is what I used and installed both v1 and v2 and that made it not able to play anything. So I deleted v2 but still had that problem. I also tried whitelist app by Kankertje but it didn't help any. If I download and use v1 or v2 will I be able to remove them both without restoring the whole vita tv?

I had downloaded the version 0.91 of vhbb. Is that not the newest one?

I believe antiblack list has a removal option. I know it does for at least v2. v1 is a blank whitelist while v2 manipulates the app.db (tells system information about games and apps). I think it changes the category to achieve this function. even with both enabled, it only accounts for 80-90% of games. a v3 would probably be manipulating the PARAM.SFO, which I think contains a whitelist flag.

btw, a permanent white list is using vs0. here's a tutorial to avoid antiblack list:

https://www.psx-place.com/threads/make-whitelist-permanent-even-after-coldboot.10687/

it's not too bad. I think the reason it's in two places is read and write privileges of ur0. vs0 may be only read.

@LadyHaywood , I forgot one thing. that tutorial has a typo: launchlist_launch_vita.dat should be list_launch_vita.dat in the file name.

Ok. since v1 is saved in ur0 is it possible to remove that if I do have a problem with v1? That why I can try out just v1 and I wouldn't have to completely restart. I'll check out that guide, thanks for that.

I'm not sure if the blacklist app changes vs0 (I think it does). normally, the whitelist would return to normal with a coldboot of the system. that's for ur0. I think the normal version is a few hundred (possibly thousand) kilobytes. the modded whitelist is very small though.

I don't know what would happen if you deleted them. would they be recreated? I believe that the whitelist can be silently updated to the system without a firmware update.
