So I updated atmosphere and Hekate using the Atmosphere Updater App on Homebrew menu.
When I rebooted, Atmosphere seemed to start normally (just with a different logo), but just before the normal Switch boot should start an error message appeared.
Pressing the power button would start another try at booting, but the same thing happened.
So I did a hard poweroff and tried booting into RCM normally. Only the Kosmos logo appears and then only black.
Going into Hekate and doing it manually will do the same thing.
I noticed that I was still using the 5.0.2 payload, but the new 5.1.1 one will not even show me the Kosmos logo or let me access the Hekate menu.
Maybe the app deleted the ini files for booting into emummc, but I don't know exactly how that works.
My emummc is on 8.1.0 by the way.
Thanks in advance!

Remove everything from your SD card except the Nintendo folder and place the newest release of Atmosphere on your SD card.

Since you've been using Kosmos chances are some things were broken when you updated. Kosmos doesn't update often and you're really better off making your own package and not resorting to a premade one. You'll want to delete atmosphere, bootloader, sept, and optionally switch, config and any other folder other than the emummc and nintendo folders and start from scratch.

1 - Download Atmosphere https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases/latest
Extract the files to a folder like SD on your Desktop
1.1 - Download "fusee-primary.bin" as well. Place that in the SD folder (we'll be using it soon)

2 - Copy the 2 config files from the atmosphere/config_templates folder to the atmosphere/config folder.
2.1 - Edit "system_settings.ini" and look for the line "; dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x0"
Change that to "dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x0"
Make sure you remove the ";" and space " " at the begging of that line and change the 1 to a 0 at the end.

This just disables cheats from being enabled by default. It's completely optional but it's recommended if you use software like Edizon.

3. - Download Hekate https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases/latest
Extract that folder to your SD folder

4 - Copy "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.X.bin" from the SD folder to the atmosphere folder.
Delete "reboot_payload.bin" from the atmosphere folder and rename "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.X.bin" to "reboot_payload.bin"

4.1 - Move "fusee-primary.bin" from the SD folder to bootloader/payloads. You won't really need this but its there in case you want to use it from Hekate.

5 - Download sigpatches with the boot config https://github.com/Joonie86/hekate/releases/latest Make sure you download "Kosmos_patches_X_X_X_bootconfig.zip"
Extract that to your SD folder.

That's it really.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
